is from journal entries we made each day of our trip to Yellowstone from
June 9 to June 24, 2000. Besides the thrill of going to Yellowstone, this
trip was made extra special for us because it provided an opportunity to
meet some people with whom we had been "chatting" for well over a year
on the internet, through a message board provided by the "Total Yellowstone"
page (http://www.Yellowstone-Natl-Park.Com).
We, who share a love for Yellowstone and frequent that web site, have evolved
over time to an "International Society" dubbing ourselves "Yellowstone
Loons." It was great fun to meet up with a few of the people that share
this passion, and feel like old friends (who we technically have never
met before! Or is it, we have only met "technically?" Uh …"technologically?").
At any rate, most references to "Loons" that you see refer to these people,
not the birds!
