Developmental Disabilities Program

Chesapeake Campus

About the Program

The special education/developmental disabilities program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in a variety of schools and agencies that serve persons with special needs. Students are immediately qualified as paraprofessionals in agencies serving both children and adults. Students who wish to continue education may complete the Association of Science Degree in General Studies and transfer into the special education program at Old Dominion University. A.S. degree graduates have the opportunity to continue their education and become licensed special education teachers.
