| How To Get There By Car:
From Airport: Leaving the Airport, take the Via Rapida expressway and follow signs for Funchal, which you will reach after approximately 20 minutes drive. Keep driving on the Via Rapida, heading for Funchal Oeste (West Funchal) for another 5 minutes. At the São Martinho junction (The Big One), you will need to leave the Via Rapida and join onto the Estrada da Liberdade, towards Centro (The City Centre). At the end of the Estrada da Liberdade, you should reach another junction, with the main city Hospital situated to your right. At this junction, take the second turning, down the Avenida Luís de Camões. At the bottom of this road, with the Hotel Savoy in front of you, take another right turn along the Avenida de Infante. After crossing over a bridge, take another right turn, going north up the Rua Dr. Pita, with the Quinta Magnolia park on your right. After a few hundred metres, you will arrive at the Estádio dos Barreiros. From City Centre (Centro): From the city centre head down to the Avenida do Mar, which runs along the seafront. When on the Avenida do Mar, head west towards Santa Catarina park, passing by the Marina, and at the Rotunda Sá Carneiro roundabout, turn right into the tunnel. Coming out of the tunnel turn right, crossing the river, and then turn right again to reach the Rotunda do Infante roundabout, at which you should take another right up the Avenida do Infante. After crossing over a bridge, take another right turn, going north up the Rua Dr. Pita, with the Quinta Magnolia park on your right. After a few hundred metres, you will arrive at the Estádio dos Barreiros. Parking: Car Parking is very restricted, and is mainly on the roads around the stadium. How To Get There By Bus: The stadium is accessible by two bus routes, the number 8 and the number 45. The number 8 service runs from the Avenida do Mar, past the stadium to Santa Quitéria. Towards the end of the route is Madeira Shopping, Madeira’s biggest Shopping Centre. The number 45 service runs from the Marina Shopping Centre on the Rua do Conselheiro, past the stadium to the suburb of Nazaré.
