A central string of cultural unity knits the Indian States into a fine garland of our motherland. The specialty of each region adds to the color and beauty of this garland. Centre for South Indian Studies consider that projecting the individuality of a region enriches the total individuality of the nation.
Southern Region of India is of particular interest to all engaged in Indological Studies. South India has been from the earliest times the forum for the confluence of relegions. Apart from dravidian faith which flourished here in the past, Aryan religions from the north like Jaininsm and Brahmanism as well as world religions like christianity, Judaism and Islam found thier haven in South India. Each of the religions made their contributions to the evolution of a composite culture in the land. South India is a region of religious harmony and concord.
Centre for South Indian Studies is a not for profit research organization with a mandate to pursue and strengthen inter-disciplinary research and studies relating to political, social, religious, cultural economic and scientific development of South India, and to promote interaction among all persons, bodies and institutions engaged in Indological/ South Indian Studies
