The one above, as well as the larger version to the right of this text, is a gif. The larger of the gif files loads even slower than the thumbnail.
The Thumbnail that is a link to his home page is a jpeg. As you can see, this one loads faster than the gif thumbnail does.
The big picture below is also a jpeg, however it will load faster than the gif picture of the same size. I used the same picture so there was no mistake about how fast each one came in. The thumbnails have the same dpi each, as do the larger files.
