The main purpose of this site is to draw customers to a local business, in this case a garage. This page is intended to be appealing to those customers and the entice them to bring their vehicle to Eugene. The idea was to keep the design free of clutter as possible with minimal elements being involved to try to stay away from that old school busy webpage.
I feel that this page does meet its intended goal of drawing in customers, showing them that a clean shop does exist and that they can trust the proprietor of this business. I feel that the layout is consistent and makes use of proper CSS structures. I choose two simple font faces as they were related to the actual company logo and the main body font was soft enough that it looked good against a grey background. The blue is taken directly from a local university color pallet. (Go UK!) The layout is pretty standard menu at the top laptop to resemble a ribbon style used in Office products. This is a straightforward design that remains intuitive and clean. The buttons help indicate which page the customer is on via remaining highlighted.
One of the key features of this website would be the ability to schedule an appointment via an interactive calendar as seen in the appropriate page. This was not 100% implemented due to the javascript requiring a MySQL or MSSQL database on the backend. Further, the comment board would also require some addtional code to make it totally functional. This again would benefit from a MySQL database backend. From an asthetic point of view Eugene could really use a real logo rather than text. Finally, the CSS page would be highly compressed, but in this case I left it structured for ease of reading and comments.
