Dark, the hero of our
tale. Dark is 14 years old at the beginning of the tale, as we find out from the
thoughts of Dark and Sou in Issue #1. Dark is an excellent swordsman,
trained by Sou-sama for five years. Dark becomes the next Phantom Saint of
the Red Phoenix after Sou dies by his hand. Dark is upset by this, but
Kyo, his spirit guide, tells him this is how Sou wanted it, and that they must
go to Oukoku to declare Dark the new Phantom Saint. ^_^ They head
off for Oukoku...
Then we find out something horrible: Dark has no sense of direction and
they're lost,er, sort of. See the strip below to see Kyo reaction!
They have stumbled into Toi, Kingdom of the Blue Dragon. Trespassing
without permission, which is what has JUST happened, is forbidden, even if they
just got "lost"! As they try to run out, Dark's bad sense of
direction is back, and they instead end up in THE MIDDLE OF TOI!!!!
That doesn't mean he's stupid, just that he has no sense of direction. This ability, or lack of ability I mean, turns up later. Its the cause of much trouble for Kyo and Dark. Dark seems to be a bit naïve, as he doesn't seem to know how to act in several situations. Then again, he IS 14, so what should we expect from a teenager. He's never really gone out and seen the world it seems.
Dark does know some things beyond the sword. He's an excellent swimmer, as seen in the fight versus Tou of the Blue Dragon. He also knows that fighting isn't always the solution. ^_^ He's a great person all around. Its just that sense of direction of his!!!
