Poems posted (not written) on November 7, 2001
I know it's been a long time since I've updated this page. I've just been really busy with school and haven't been online much latly. I also haven't been writing much of anything in the last few months. Plus I'm only getting about 15 hits to this site a month, so I'm sure no one was complaining! lol
So for the people who do check this site every now and then...here are some new poems! P.S. Sorry for the total lack of poetic talent...my excuse is that I'm only 16. :)
And inspired by my lack of writing ablility, another poorly written "poem"
"Rambling in Verse"
I am lyrically challenged
I am chemically unbalanced
I am emotionally damaged
I am virtually impossible
Unbelievably difficult
To understand
My imagination can run
Faster than the speed of light
It's been months since I've slept all night
My spelling could be worse
And If I smoke another cigarette
They'll be carting me off in a hearse
And now I'm just rambling in verse! :)
Here's another untitled "poem" that's been in one of my notebooks for a few months now.
The cord is stretched
As far as it can go
The day it breaks I'll let you know
The lines here are getting a little hazy
Trying to keep it together for the sake of temporary sanity
The fine print is getting finer
The heights seem a little higher
The depths a little deeper
Sinking, floating, flying, falling..
My memory is constantly failing...
I can't even remember if that is true
"Insomniac"
Tonight, like all the other nights
I can't sleep
So I do what any adolesent manic depressive
Insomniac does
I sit and write
So until sleep with grant me the pleasure of its company
I'll sit here and try to understand
The insomniac that is me
Here's another one inspired by my grandfathers suicide.
"July 2001: 13 days before 7 years"
In my dream I saw your face
Under water with your arms above your head
Reaching up to heaven
While your bruised head nodded
Green lifeless eyes stared back at me
Never to blink again
I couldn't breathe
Went back up to the surface
In desperate search for air
A deep breath filled my lungs with water
And I choked
Blood was suddenly everywhere
I struggled to get free
But you held on the me
So strong
You pulled me down
Granpa
I died with you
Ok, I'll try to make the last poem of this page less depressing and more silly. So here's another crappy peom from another crappy poet. :)
"Silly Poem"
Walk into a wall
Hit your face and fall
Look around
To see who saw
A smirk will cross your face
So what if you got last place?
You gave it your all
So pick yourself up off the ground
Brush yourself off
And run to catch up with the sunset
We'll see it again
Tomorrow will be another beautiful day!

And thanks to Alyson for pointing out a typo to me. (Oops) I know there are a lot on this site, but I'm too lazy to fix them all. :)
