"'SpongeBob SquarePants' is a playful children's show. Many adults even enjoy watching it! It was first aired in 1999, and was a HUGE hit with many people around the world. The show reached out and touched our hearts for good." - The crustykrabber
SpongeBob SquarePants is about a sponge (SpongeBob SquarePants) living under the sea with many of his sea critter (and land critter) friends. They live in "Bikini Bottom," somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Every day there's something new happening down there! Like, evil plankton is trying to take over Bikini Bottom and steal the secret recipe for the Krabby Pattie, a bubble blowing booth opens (with lessons! Only a quarter), a carnival comes to town, or SpongeBob experaments with living in the wild (with the jellyfish). The show teaches the meaning of F.U.N, and friendship...

SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star are the best of friends! They do everything together! They even went on a special JellyFishing trip together. Patrick and Spongebob are definitely quite the pair. In many of the episodes, they play silly games, or they send bubble messages to one another, bringing them very very close. Spongebob came VERY close to moving away after his Pineapple (house) was destroyed!! Patrick was very sad, but Spongebob stayed: after burying the last of his house under the ground and shedding a few tears, it suddenly grew again! Squidward, Spongebob's nextdoor neighbor, wasn't too happy about this...

Squidward Tenticles is a very cranky squid who shows up many times in the show. He acts like he dosn't like Spongebob much, but in a few episodes he confesses to liking Spongebob or missing him. We know he has a good heart - many people I've talked to say he reminds them of Oscar The Grouch, from Sesame Street. His crankiness and playful laugh entertains children and adults, and draws them back to watching the show.

Sandy Cheeks, one of SpongeBob's many underwater friends, enjoys playing Karate with Spongebob. She likes to keep him in shape and active. When Mr. Krabs (the owner of The Crusty Krabs, also Spongebob's boss) told SpongeBob that if he did any more Karate, he would be fired, because it was interfering with his work, Sandy tempted him, and he ended up fired. He took this VERY hard, but managed to get his job back.
