| The Lady Trucker |
| Long and lonely highways beckon me, A lady trucker is what I choose to be, A world that at one time belonged to men, But this is now that was then. Sometime ago I went on the road, To help a friend deliver load, From the time I climbed into his truck, I knew I had found my calling and thought, what luck! My family and friends said I wouldn't last, But that was long ago, many years have passed. I pilot my rig to the best of my ability, I know I can run with the best, I have the agility. Sometimes, for weeks, I am away from home, I may drive solo but I am not alone, Family and friends are with me in my heart, Fellow truckers embrace me, their friendship I impart. Though this job is not an easy one the rewards abound, I see the sunrise and can't describe the peace I've found, Moving freight across this great land, Guided by my professionalism and God's hand. copyright 2000 LM |
