The Poems of
Terri Lyn Stanfield
Still Breathless

As I watch you walk towards me
I fall in love with you again
The way you move, the look in your eyes
The knowledge that it's all for me
Though many year's have come and gone
You still leave me breathless with desire
Just the sight of you causes my pulse to race
The merest touch sets my heart on fire
And I burn for more, which you gladly give
And once more we scale the heights to ecstasy
Until we two, become one being
All of these thoughts flit through my mind
As I watch you draw nearer to me
I rise to meet you, and my thoughts become reality

Hot.....Not!

You think you're really hot
And many would agreee
But I see right through you
I'm immune, you see
I know your type so well
Been there and done that
I wasn't that impressed
Though from where I'm at
You're looking really good
And you know it, too
But good looks are skin deep
I'm not fooled by you
I know what you're after
But don't look to me
I learned my lesson well
You like what you see?
Well, look all you want to
But don't dare to touch
I did not invite you
And you're out of luck
You don't tempt me at all
You're so transparent
Shallow and self centered
Callous, uncaring
You think that you're all that
Not to me, you're not
So go find some young thing
Who will think you're hot

Destiny Has Found Us

It happened in an instant
I was taken by surprise
You captured me forever
With one look from your sweet eyes
T'was just a glance in passing
Two lone strangers in a crowd
Though not a word was spoken
The feelings were clear and loud
Yes, destiny has found us
And made its intentions clear
Though it was unexpected
I know where we go from here
Love may have been at first sight
A big surprise to us both
But it couldn't be more real
And I give to you this oath
Each day it will grow stronger
And you never will regret
The day two complete strangers
Fell so much in love, and met
The Maestro

With the turn of a phrase
Or a word placed just so
I pluck at your heart strings
As their melodic flow
Permeates your being
And their song fills your heart
You feel the emotion
As the concerto starts
First pianissimo
So soft, and so haunting
Then comes the crescendo
So fierce, and so daunting
The words take you to heights
To the darkest nadir
Perhaps fill you with joy
Or feed your deepest fears
At the culmination
The last decrescendo
I bring you back safely
For I am the maestro
