I Can't Let Go

Will there ever be a time when my heart doesn't ache for you
And will the day ever come when you're not my first thought upon waking
Am I ever going to be able to get through a day without seeing you in the face of
  every stranger
And will I ever have a night's sleep without you invading every dream
The answer to all of questions is a resounding no
You're in my blood, under my skin and firmly entrenched in my heart
And though I can no longer hold your body, I can't let go of your memory
And if I can't let go of the past, how can I have any future

Burning

I wait in anticipation
For your knock upon my door
My pulse races, my breathing's fast
I know I can't take much more
This time will be like all the rest
You'll fulfill all my desires
Throughout the long and steamy night
You will keep my blood on fire
But with the coming of the sun
You will once more disappear
And I won't hear from you again
Til the next time you come here
If I were strong, I'd demand more
From you than passion filled nights
But I am putty in your hands
I don't care what's wrong or right
So hurry to me, lover mine
Before I go up in flames
No promises, no commitment
I won't even speak your name
My need for you is all I feel
It's all I care about
And there's your knock at my door
Come in, we'll lock the world out

Wake Up Call

The distance that lies between us isn't measured in miles
We're seldom out of each others company
But you don't look at me anymore, you look through me
And you don't talk to me, you talk at me
When you even bother to talk at alll
This isn't the way I want to live my life
I refuse to be just another inantimate object in the periphery of your existence
Do I mean so little to you that you don't even bother to acknowledge my presence
Then I doubt you'll even notice when I'm gone
And I will be gone if you don't care enough to change
Consider this your wake up call
Are you ready to open your eyes, or will you just sleep on

Creatures Of The Night

As the sun falls from the sky
And the light of day is gone
All the creatures of the night
Come out, once more, to roam
They never brave the daylight
For the things it would reveal
Would annihilate their souls
Perhaps even make them feel
Much better to prowl the night
And hide beneath its cover
Prey upon the innocents
And even on each other
Dodging the truth of their lives
Evading the touch of light
Melding into the darkness
And, though knowing wrong, from right
Caring only for themselves
The pleasure of the moment
Feeding off of each other
Letting their actions foment
Them on to nastier deeds
And becoming more depraved
Until the reach their swan song
Buried deep in early graves
