The Poems of

Angelic Soul

I wonder if you realize
The love reflecting from your eyes
Or the depth of the emotion
Inspired by your own devotion
I think that you have not a clue
About the wonder that is you
Your smile is beyond mere mortals
And your arms are heaven's portals
Your laughter is such sweet music
And you do so often use it
Your heart is bigger than the sky
You never pass one person by
Whether it's just to say hello
Or lend a hand to some poor soul
You're always there, and never cease
To heed the call of someone's pleas
You're generous in every way
And never miss a single day
Of helping others if you can
Believing in your fellow man
You're like an angel come to earth
Full of goodness, kindness and mirth
You're more special than words can say
And I am thankful, every day
To know your heart belongs to me
And that together we will be
In love always, never undone
Forever bound, our souls as one

Stay The Course

So many feelings swirling inside
Which ones to show, which ones to hide
The depth of them, I dare not reveal
Though they are true, though they are real
To feel so much is scary indeed
To have such a powerful need
I can't allow myself to give in
This battle of wills, I must win
The victory must belong to me
To lose would be a tragedy
Outstanding circumstances declare
That I proceed with greatest care
The decision can't be mine alone
Others involved would not condone
So I must keep my feelings hidden
And bend my will to my bidding
Staying true to the course I have set
Content, at peace, without regret

Lost Long Ago

I long to give my heart to you
But someone took it long ago
They broke it far beyond repair
Still, I just want you to know
If it were whole, and mine to give
I would place it in your hands
But the pieces are forever lost
Because of a heartless man
He took my trust and devotion
And betrayed them to the core
And though it happened long ago
I remain the same no more
I'm not wide eyed, or innocent
Not trusting, and not naive
Not able to reach out in love
And very slow to believe
He took all that I had to give
And just threw it all away
He left be but a shattered shell
And so I remain today
Only half a person, if that
Still crippled by his actions
Unable to take part in life
Immune to all attraction
Believe me, you are better off
Forgetting all about me
For though I might wish otherwise
My heart will never be free
