The Greatest Gift

As I think back on all the good times in my life
The memories that I hold as precious
I realize they all revolve around you
You were there when I laughed, and when I cried
When I was hurting, you were the one who held me
And as I try to think back to my life before you entered
  it
I can't, it's as if my life began with you
Everything before that is hazy and unfocused
You gave my life purpose
You made it worth living
And having you to share it with has been the greates
  gift of all

Judgement

You sit there in judgement
In all your pompousness
And think you'er entitled
You won't be second guessed
Your judgement is final
Your opinion supreme
No one dares to question
When your ruling's extreme
You remain doubtless
Your qualifications
Are way beyond question
And no supplication
Is ever considered
For what does it matter
What they might have to say
Or what they would rather
For you remain guiltless
Of humanity's faults
And you have every right
To take up the gauntlet
But I tell you this now
For my conscience is clear
You may have that power
For as long as we're here
But when we're truly judged
As we stand fore the throne
I think you'll be surprised
When the turn is your own
You've shown no compassion
Given no lenience
You've just hidden behind
That pathetic pretense
Of your fake holiness
And your righteous outrage
While all the time hiding
All your own sinful ways
So you go right ahead
With your judgemental tour
But when comes judgement day
You are gonna get yours

You Can't Know

You say you know how I feel
But you haven't got a clue
You're not the one who's hurting
This hasn't happened to you
You've never suffered a loss
Approaching this magnitude
You can't conceive my sorrow
And your attempts are so crude
I know you really mean well
But just keep your empty words
They are a cruel travesty
Of the pain that has been stirred
So deep inside my being
It is ripping me apart
It is gnawing at my soul
And decimating my heart
So don't say you understand
Because, believe me, you don't
And until you're in my shoes
I can promise you, you won't
You want to offer your support
You want to be here for me
Well, that's all you have to do
Just let your strength restore me
I need you here, by my side
But you do not need to speak
Just lend me your broad shoulder
And support me while I'm weak
