Star

I sit here all alone at last
The crowd has come and gone
They came to see me in the flesh
And listen to my songs
But now, the concert is over
The doors have been locked tight
There's nobody around but me
Why doesn't this feel right
This is what I've always wanted
The fame, the flash, the fans
My songs played on all the stations
But I'm not sure I can
Continue on with this lifestyle
Going from town to town
Eating and sleeping on my bus
Is just getting me down
I've worked hard to get to this place
I know that I can't stop
But what they say is oh, so true
It's lonely at the top

Kid Wars

You say you're through
You've had enough
But I thought that
You were so tough
So, what's the prob
I don't see it
He's just a kid
You can't just quit
You promised you'd
Watch him all week
Can't you handle
The lil pipsqueak
Now, don't tell me
A little kid
Has done you in
Oh no!  He did!
Aren't you the one
That said you could
Straighten him out
Once and for good
Didn't you say
You'd slow him down
Show him who's boss
What's with the frown
Can't take the truth
It's hard, I know
Don't feel too bad
You're not alone
We've all been there
Casualties
In this old war
With the kiddies
SO small, so sweet
And innocent
And though I know
They're heaven sent
I swear, at times
They all grow horns
You're not the first
I swear, at times
They all grow horns
You're not the first
That's battle worn
But now you know
How tough it is
To be someone
In the kid biz
