DELTA FORCE 3:  LANDWARRIOR

-Players-

Character: Sergeant Cole Harris
Call sign: Gas Can
Specialty: Demolitions/grenadier
Age: 32
Height: 5 feet, 10 inches
Weight: 195lbs.
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Birthplace: Tyler, Texas

Distinguishing marks: Harris has several visible third-degree burns along his arms and chest, which he undoubtedly suffered from demolitions-related mishaps. He also bears a tattoo of a fiery devil on his right arm, and he is missing his left index finger - a victim of another explosive accident.

Background: With a southern drawl and a blue-collar worker mentality, this stocky soldier is one of the finest field demolition experts in the Special Forces and easily the character best adept at handling explosives in Delta Force: Land Warrior. Before joining the military, Harris worked for a leading Texan fertilizer exporter, where he developed an interest for explosives during his time off.

Harris began his military career at Fort Leonardwood in Missouri, where he exhibited a natural talent for handling explosives and easily earned his grenadier expert badge after a rigorous series of tests. He was promoted to Private First Class after only six weeks of basic training, and after completing his phase one training, he moved on to advanced training. There, Harris learned the fundamentals of combat engineering with an emphasis on demolitions and caught the eye of the Delta Force recruiters when he finished at the top of his class. After accepting their offer to undergo special operations training, he was immediately awarded the rank of corporal and was transferred to Fort Benning for Airborne School.

At Fort Benning, Harris received his jump wings and sergeant's stripes. Soon thereafter, he received orders to undergo Advanced Demolitions Training (ADT) at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. There, Harris expanded upon the fundamentals he had learned earlier but trained with a focus on small-unit tactics. Harris finished in the top three percent of his class and moved on to regular duty with Delta Force.

Some soldiers have a hard time dealing with Harris' excessively belligerent attitude, but no one ever disputes him on facts about explosives. With one look at a building, Harris can determine 20 different ways of bringing it down.

Character: First Lieutenant Rydel Wilson
Call sign: Pitbull
Specialty: Heavy gunner and automatic weapons
Age: 31
Height: 6 feet, 5 inches
Weight: 270 pounds
Ethnicity: African American
Birthplace: Bronx, New York

Distinguishing marks: Wilson is a giant of a man. Aside from being a walking mountain of muscle, his only distinguishing mark is a deep scar that runs underneath his lip - a relic of his boxing days.

Background: Born in Bronx, New York, Rydel is easily the toughest member of the Delta Force team in Land Warrior. Rydel grew up with his mother and sisters in a one-bedroom apartment located above a boxing gym, where he eventually spent most of his teenage years learning from local boxers and trainers. By the age of 18, Rydel was 6 feet, 4 inches and 290 pounds of pure muscle, and he often had a hard time finding someone who would agree to spar with him. By the time he was 19, Rydel became a Golden Gloves Heavyweight contender. But even though he had a future as a pro fighter, Rydel felt that he could make more of a contribution to society by joining the military.

Rydel started his military career in the enlisted ranks, where he earned his E-6 (staff sergeant) stripes by the age of 27. He was a natural rifleman, and he took easily to the difficulties involved with firing squad automatic weapons. He became so good, in fact, that he was asked to instruct at the Army Infantry Center in Fort Benning, Georgia. He did this commendably for two years but longed to return to duty with a field unit. He got his chance after he was prompted to apply to OCS (Officer's Candidate School). After his commission, he was transferred to active duty with the First Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment in Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. While he was there, he trained his men as rigorously as he drove himself. It was this tenacity and single-minded drive that earned him his nickname, Pitbull.

Pitbull's squad entered nearly every regimental and divisional competition and earned top honors in many of them. Not surprisingly, Pitbull was soon approached by Delta Force recruiters, who were interested in making him a member of their elite task force. Pitbull quickly jumped at the opportunity, and he was soon given the responsibility of squad leader of the team. Regardless, he still has a tough time finding sparring partners.

Character: Chief Warrant Officer 2 Erica Swift
Call sign: Mako
Specialty: Underwater demolitions
Age: 25
Height: 5 feet, 8 inches
Weight: 125 pounds
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Birthplace: Cote d'Azur, France

Distinguishing marks: None

Background: Erica was born to an American embassy worker in the south of France, and her childhood was filled with adventure. By the age of ten she was fluent in five languages and was meeting some of Europe's most powerful leaders. When she was 15, her father retired and moved the family to Southern California. Extremely intelligent and worldly, Erica quickly became bored with average teenage activities and took up extreme sports such as big-wave surfing, mountain biking, and deep-sea shipwreck diving. Erica eventually graduated from college with a degree in chemistry, and she was soon putting her intelligence to work at a major pharmaceutical company.

However, during a diving vacation in the Caymans, Erica met a retired Navy Seal who so inspired her with his tales of military adventure that she immediately quit her job and joined the military upon her return to the US. During boot camp, Erica routinely requested additional training to see how far she could push herself. Despite impressing her superiors, Erica was not eligible for the CDQC (Combat Diver Qualification Course) since she was a female. She did the next best thing, though, by entering the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) training program at Indian Head, Maryland. After successfully completing the program with high honors, she was stationed at Ft. Shafter, Hawaii, with the USARPAC EOD Control Team, where she attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2.

Erica's background in scuba diving and flawless dedication to her team eventually caught the attention of Delta Force recruiters looking to fill their ranks with an underwater demolitions specialist. They brought Erica on board as a consultant and eventually sent her to the CDQC - the same course previously denied to her because of her sex. But Erica's remarkable proficiency under pressure quickly got her a field position on one of Delta Force's best five-man squads. In her time off, she can be found surfing the world's biggest waves on the north shore of Hawaii.

Name: Sergeant Daniel Lonetree
Call sign: Longbow
Specialty: Sniper
Age: 25
Height: 6 feet
Weight: 180 pounds
Ethnicity: Navajo
Birthplace: Tuba City, Arizona

Distinguishing marks: Lonetree has a persistent sunburn on his nose and around his cheeks, as well as a gigantic tribal image tattooed across his upper back.

Background: As a child, Lonetree was abandoned by his parents, and he had to learn to fend for himself at a very young age. While his grandparents were always there to support him, he eventually grew distant from them; he chose to find solace within himself rather than from others. Even kids his age would avoid him because of the intense look he constantly had on his face. However, when he became a teenager, he grew more amicable, and he became fascinated with his grandfather, who was a code talker during World War II. It soon became clear that joining the military straight out of high school would be an obvious choice for Lonetree.

Lonetree enlisted in the army for the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) Infantry, 11B. During weapons qualification training, he displayed a natural ability for handling all types of weapons, but he specifically excelled during rifle qualification, in which he scored perfectly by hitting all targets at all ranges. After graduating basic, advanced individual, and airborne training at Fort Benning, Georgia, Lonetree was reassigned to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, with the 82nd Airborne Division, where he honed his field skills as an airborne infantryman and quickly worked his way up from an infantry platoon to the elite Long Range Reconnaissance Company. While he was there, Lonetree rose to the rank of sergeant, and he became keenly interested in joining Special Forces. He applied, and he was accepted for the Special Forces Qualification Course at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center at Fort Bragg and was selected for training as a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant for the MOS Infantry, 18B.

Lonetree's dedication and finely tuned field skills led to his selection as Distinguished Honor Graduate of his course. He was assigned to a Special Forces Operational Detachment - Alpha (SFODA) in the 10th Special Forces Group, Fort Carson, Colorado. Due to his natural skills and expert marksmanship, he was selected for training at the Special Operations Target Interdiction Course (SOTIC), the sniper school for Special Forces. In battle, Lonetree distinguished himself during Stabilization Force (SFOR) in Bosnia-Herzegovina while he conducted counter-sniper missions. Because of this, Delta Force recruiters took notice of his abilities and approached him about joining their ranks.

Lonetree never likes to make small talk during missions, as he firmly believes that there is no more serious a job than his. Even veteran soldiers are impressed at how stoic this sniper can be while he's under heavy fire.

Name: Sergeant Jennifer Tanaka
Call sign: Snakebite
Specialty: CQB/Covert ops
Age: 28
Height: 5 feet, 5 inches
Weight: 115 pounds
Ethnicity: Asian-American
Birthplace: San Francisco, Calif.

Distinguishing marks: Tanaka gets her call sign from the tattoo of a viper on her right arm.

Background:
Jennifer was an extremely energetic and reckless child. Her father ran a martial arts studio and began teaching her as soon as she could walk. She quickly took a liking to the arts, picking up on advanced moves faster than her peers and entering national tournaments by her teen years. However, Jennifer also had a knack for getting herself into trouble. Her impatience with scholastic life lead to her openly rebelling against all authority figures except her father. Because of her continual confrontations with teachers, principals, and other kids, Jennifer's father enlisted her in the military immediately after her high school graduation in the hopes that doing so would teach her to respect authority.

Jennifer scored high on her military entrance exams and was offered a wide selection of military occupational specialties (MOS). She chose military intelligence with an MOS of 97B, counterintelligence agent. She attended basic training at the US Army Intelligence Center, Ft. Huachuca, Ariz., and after graduating from training, Jennifer was assigned to the 501st Military Intelligence Brigade, Republic of South Korea. Her unit's mission was to conduct reconnaissance, surveillance, interrogation of enemy prisoners, and counterintelligence. Jennifer excelled as a field agent and quickly advanced to the rank of sergeant.

While visiting Korea in search of prospective candidates, Delta Force recruiters took special notice of Jennifer's achievements. Upon accepting her, Delta Force expanded on Jennifer's skills in stealth and martial arts by sending her through its intensive close-quarters-battle training. Her quickness, stealth, and expert skill with all close-range weapons impressed her instructors so much that she was assigned to active duty on one of the best five-man squads.
