| 1923 15/30 HP Crossley Tourer The history of this car is a little uncertain however it was eventully smashed in 1936 when the driver was under the influence of alcohol in Northern Victoria. The engine and chassis numbers both read 25425. | Car: 1923 Crossley 15/30 HP Tourer. Owner: Robert Tenney. Colour: Blue body & black mudguards. Features: Lots of jewellery. Raked top opening windscreen. Spotlight with rear mirror. Supper table and side curtain compartment. Hand windscreen wiper. Electric starter and lighting. Drivers door. 23 inch beaded edge wheels for Australian conditions. Pedals arranged as clutch. accelerator then brake. 3 speed crash gearbox. Hand throttle and advance/retard ignition manual levers. Fully carpeted in rear floor section. Fold down hood. Rear foot rest. Body made by Crossley. Pros: High ground clearance. High torque motor. Plenty of headroom. Spacious rear legroom. Good visual height advantage. Reasonable brakes despite being 2 wheel rear drum brakes. Good hand brake. Good turning circle. Light steering. Exciting to drive. Cons: Boils easily. Poor drivers door entrance. Awkward pedal positions. No seat adjustment. No key or other security. All year round heating from engine bay to cabin, not much fun on a 40c day. Big gap between 2nd and 3rd gear. Slow on hills and head winds due to high gearing. Hard to clean. Manufactured: Manchester, England. Top speed: 70mph. Economy: 27mpg. Tyre Pressure: 60psi Oil capacity: 1.75 Gallons.
