Hunting History: I began leasing my
property for deer bow hunting in 1998. Prior to that time, numerous hunters
wishing to hunt the property had approached the person who takes care of
my place, but I always declined. In 1998, he convinced me to give it a
try and it worked out very well for the hunters as well as myself.
Deer Hunting Goals: My deer hunting strategy is to limit the number of hunters. That way, the pressure is minimized and we can provide the best hunting conditions for the hunters this year and in years to come. What I feel are the main attractions are: (1) exclusive use of the house (2) minimal hunting pressure, and (3) easy access in terms of coming and going to hunting spots. Property: The property surrounding the lodge is divided up very well in terms of it not being just one big open field (see aerial map on Location & Additional Info page). The ponds are a nice distance apart from each other and the various woods help segregate the property into numerous good hunting spots. Nearby the farm are Ten Mile Creek and Hamilton County Fish & Wildlife Areas (FWA), which comprise approximately 7,000 acres. |
