An interesting side trip after your trek is a visit to the Terai, a narrow strip of flat and fertile land between India and the mountains. A great place to rest after your trek. The Terai is easily accessible from Kathmandu or Pokhara by bus. The bus ride takes you through a completely different Nepal. Much of the population lives in this area.

The most important attraction here is the Royal Chitwan National Park. Here you can ride an elephant into the jungle looking for Tigers and Rhinoceros.
Enjoy a walk through the jungle with a local naturalist guide or a canoe trip on the Rapti river
