The Issues

There are still more issues that avoid a specific genre or audience. The issues of pornography is one of those. Male, female, child, adult, homosexual, heterosexual; there is no "porno type." It is a disease that can and has affected every type of person. From

the ages of preteen to the elderly men and women. Even the Pastor's we sit under and assume that their lives are in order. The statistic that was on the last page you read said that after all the statistics, 6% of Pastors looked at pornography more than once a month! There is a challenge that needs to go out to Americans, and Christians alike; the same challenge that was mentioned earlier, to ask, to tell, to be open with our faults and problems. We are called to be prayer warriors for our pastors, our elders, our friends within the church! That is what we should be doing, and taking that one step further, and talking about it. The "confession of the mouth" was not only for the salvations, but for the forgiveness in all areas, those not easily discussed and those mentioned from day to day!

Issue No. 2: Pornography
   The issue is in every home, every city, every street corner. You cannot get away from sex! I know what you may be thinking, "But sex is not pornography!" You are right, by definition, it isn't. What I am saying to you who is reading this is, if you are dealing with pornography, the beginning wasn't a "hard-core tape" you bought at a porn shop, it was a magazine that wasn't even considered porn, or a tv show late night on HBO, or whatever. When you are in any kind of bondage, the only solution is to get rid or wipe away all of what will "trigger" you going back into bondage! This is the key to getting away from pornography, it isn't a 12 step program, but it isn't slowly stepping way from it, it is going after it like someone slapped you in the face, punching back at the Devil harder than he punched you!
   Here are some ideas that might help you out;
         1. If you can get rid of channels like HBO, Cinemax, or whatever do it...if you can't pray for self control from watching those things that may trigger your indulgence, I know it is a great movie network, but you can save the money and rent or buy the movie!
           2. If you are 18, or under and watch actual tapes of pornography, BREAK THEM!! Look at them as the enemy, without any remorse, burn them, get rid of them!
           3. Find an accountability partner, someone who you can talk to about this, make a code or something if you can't talk upront about it, but have someone to open up to when you mess up, and when you get to where you may mess up.
           4. Fill the space you spent looking at porno with time with God, if you watched late night HBO, stay up and read your Bible, the hole you left MUST be filled, and Jesus wants it all to himself! Let Him have your new found extra time!

I have covered two 'sexually" based issues, and there is one that is on the same level of "not being talked about or discussed" within the church. The issue is Racism and discrimination within the church and within our lives.
