When its not about our faces... page 11
UNDISTURBED

At the end of a road, in the middle of nowhere
With thatch roofing and stone walls
It sat undisturbed

Echos of the dead
from long ago
surrounded the grounds

Yet there it sat, undisturbed..

Through war, death and plagues
Famine and strife
Unrelenting and unforgiving

It sat, undisturbed

In the early morning light
When the sun shone from heaven
Upon the gates that lead
To the one true place of peace

It still sat undisturbed

And when blood spilled upon the grounds
and life was taken in an instant
Where babies cried out for their lost fathers
and mothers mourned their lovers

It sat undisturbed

Years went by,
The roof leaked, the walls cracked
Yet it still sat
Waiting for the day
That people would once again flock
To praise the almighty one
Giving thanks
For life
laughter and love

There it sat, undisturbed and waiting!
