| This site is dedicated to genealogical research of the Crook family that has been traced back to William Crook, who was born in 1612 near Bristol, (southwest) England. There is differing information regarding the origin of the surname Crook. Some say the Crook family is an ancient Lancashire (England) family (due to their appearances in ancient Lancashire records) that traces its ancestry to a family of Vikings origin dating before 1100 A.D. Others say the family originated in southwest England and derived the name from the old Suffolk name of CROKE, an old Norman name which appears in 11th century records. |
