Cronje Dorpers was founded in 1956. Sustained performance testing for hardiness, long-lived, growth rate, fertility, milk production and show performance, Cronje Dorpers has succeeded in breeding a most acceptable sheep for every circumstance. Cronje Dorpres has undoubtedly the best bloodlines in South Africa.
Cronje Dorpers hold the record for the most points achieved at a National Show. For 15 years Cronje Dorpers held the first sellers position at the National Sales and nobody has ever equaled this.

rams as well as ewes.
Several other breeders achieved success
at the National Championships by using rams and ewes bought from Cronje
Dorpers. The owners, B.J. and W.L. Cronje are judges at the National Championships
and can, therefore, no longer compete.
Since 1962, Cronje Dorpers took part in
carcass competitions. It helped them tremendously in breeding a Dorper
that suited the public's taste. Records of sheep have been computerized
since 1982. Genetic materials and history of sheep are promptly available.
