| We are the Residential Center for Educative Opportunities of Mayaguez, CROEM in spanish. CROEM is specialized in math and science, reason for which each student is required to take two courses in these two subjects. This school is a very important one for the Department of Education, and for every person that is related to it, specially the students. The effect it has on everybody is a life long one, that helps you grow and mature like one never thought possible. It prepares you for college life, and for the rest of experiences you may have in life. Without doubt, it is the best place to grow up, before becoming fully independent. This site is a unofficial one. Although here you may find official documents, the Department of Education is not responsible for this website. This is a tool to maintain contact between former, current, and future CROEMitas. All help you may provide is welcomed as well as ideas and tools to make this site a more effective and practical one. |

| The school has as mission the compromise of developing in the students the values, knowledge, basic skills, habits and attitudes that allow them their full development. It was founded on the 1967-1968 school year. On the1990 -1991 school year, it was academically adopted by the University Campus of Mayag�ez. In the 1992 - 1993 school year it was inscripted in the Specialized School Unit. That same year, in it�s silver anniversary, it obtains the "Blue Ribbons" award, an award of excellence of the Federal Department of Education. That is summed to achieving the school�s accreditation from the General Council of Education for six years. The objectives of the center are: to offer new choices in the process of teaching-learning to a group of talented students in science and math. We try to develop to the maximum their academic potential, combining it with an environment of healthy coexistence, in a way that when they arrive to university, their adjustment period is more pleasant. The Residential Center for Educative Opportunities of Mayag�ez is located in street 349 Km. 6.6 of Cerro Las Mesas. It has a panoramic view of 360 degrees where you can see the municipalities of Cabo Rojo, Hormigueros, San Germ�n and Lajas as also the Caribbean Sea. |
