How To Become An Overseer
So, you're interested in becoming an Overseer, huh? Well let me tell you, it ain't easy. You'll need to show exemplary skills and know the rules very well. Below are several key things you must do to show that you are worthy to be among the elite ranks.
1. READ THE RULES Knowing every last rule is an absolute must for an Overseer. Be sure to read over everything on the site multiple times. Be sure to follow the rules in the RPG as well... it doesn't look good if you're aspiring to become an Overseer and you break the rules yourself. 2. NOTIFY OVERSEERS OF CHEATERS No one likes cheaters, and Overseers can't be on 24 hours to watch everything. If you can give them a hand and point out when and where people are breaking the rules, Overseers will look down on you nicely. 3. HELP OUT THOSE IN NEED On the Boards, there is a topic devoted to people asking questions. Helping people out shows that you're not only willing to do it as an Overseer, but also shows that you understand the different parts of the RPG. This one is a biggie as well. 4. PERFORM COMBAT Overseers are sometimes asked to perform Combat, and they must do so. Since Combat is a very tricky thing, showing that you understand and can handle doing it helps you improbe your image. 5. MAKE SUGGESTIONS Since Overseers also get votes in the Council and can bring up propositions easily, it is important for an Overseer to have good ideas and knowledge of how the RPG is played and what will benefit it. Making good suggestions to me or the Council is helpful... but remember, bad suggestions may not make you look better. 6. SUCK UP, BE ARTICULATE, ETC. Well, it's true. Being nice to those who have the power to appoint Overseers doesn't hurt. Mainly, however, you must let them know that you're doing stuff and are interested in becoming an Overseer. Be sure not to become a pest, though. Also, make sure your posts are intelligent and comprehensible... no one wants to listen to someone who appears to be a moron. OK, so that's some of the stuff that you need to do if you're interested in becoming an Overseer. However, don't expect to get in just because you did it. We're not always looking for new Overseers, and it's going to take work and effort... even more than is listed above. Keep at it, and if you consistently do a good job, someone will notice you.
