Chapter 3

Ria Sanchez walked into Jake's the next night at the same time and waited as she had before. After a few minutes the same man arrived and went up the stairs. She stood up, finished her beer and followed him.

~~~
Frisco got he and Robert a room at a small hotel outside of town so no one would recognize them. Frisco came into Robert's room.
"What now?"
Robert turned to look at the younger man. "Now you go see Mac and Felicia."
"Okay, you gonna be okay here until I get back?"
"Yes, Frisco, I'll be fine."
"Okay, okay. I'll be back later."
~~~
Mac and Felicia sat in his office at the PCPD. They were going over the pictures that Frisco had faxed over.
"She looks familiar," Felicia noted. "There's just something..." she trailed off.
Mac nodded. "I know."

~~~
"So why's the hit being cancelled?" Ria asked the lackey standing in front of her.
"I was told that the WSB questioned my employer, that's all I know."
"Damn you, Scorpio," she muttered. "Very well." She gave him a small nod before she walked out of the room. She walked down the stairs and out of the bar into the crisp air of Port Charles. She knew that the WSB had trapped her. There wasn't a way out of the town without getting caught by either the local cops or the bureau.
She sighed and began to walk to her motel, she had a lot to think about.
"Miss Sanchez, what a surprise."
~~~
Frisco walked into Mac's office at the PCPD, both he and Felicia looked up.
"Frisco," Felicia and Mac said.
"Mac, Princess," Frisco replied. "Anything?"
"No," Mac said as Frisco sat down across from him.

~~~
Ria whirled around. "You."
"Hello, Ria, it's been a long time."
"Not long enough," she said. "I'm done, I'm out."
"So you keep saying, but I don't believe you, I never have," he said getting closer to her. "I know you love the thrill."
"I love the thrill of the kill, that's all. Other than that, it's my only means of survival since I don't really exist."
"I could make you exist," he whispered in her ear.
"And I could kill you right now, but I won't."
In an instant he had his hand around her throat, gently squeezing her trachea. "You are right, you don't exist, but you still belong to me."
"I belong to no one," she wheezed. "Especially not you or the organization."
"We shall see, Ria." He released her throat with a shove causing her to fall to the ground in a heap. "I hear that your dear sister used to live here in Port Charles. Maybe you should go see some of her old friends."
"Go to hell."
He leaned down. "You first." He took a gun out of his pocket and screwed on the silencer. "I'll see you there Ria, that is of course after you see your former brother-in-law."
She saw the gun. She knew that he wasn't going to kill her, he wanted her to be caught but she couldn't afford that. She glanced around her for a possible escape. Seeing none, she knew what her options were. She got into a running position and kicked his knee, crushing the kneecap, before she took off running down the ally.
"Ria, you will pay for that," he screamed after her dropping to the ground. He sat against the wall and pulled out a cell phone. "You niece is going to die, my love, very, very soon."
~~~
Frisco sat in Mac's office going over the information about Ria with Mac since Felicia had to go home.
"What's your interest in this case Frisco?" Mac asked.
"Just doing my job," Frisco lied. "Ria Sanchez is a very dangerous woman."
"But why are you worried about it?"
Frisco sighed. "It's not for me to tell, I'm doing a favor for a friend who has a personal interest in Ria." His cell phone rang. "Jones."
"Hey, Frisco," Robert said in greeting. "Got something for ya."
"What?"
"Inteligence intercepted an interesting call. It seems that Ria will be dead very soon."
"Who?"
"Her loving family in Russia. They want her dead."
"So what now?"
"I'm going to pay her a visit," Robert said. "You coming?"
Frisco thought for a second. "Yeah, I'll be there in ten minutes." He hung up and turned to Mac. "I gotta go. I'll be back later." With that, Frisco Jones stood and walked out of the office.

~~~
Ria ran to the docks and looked over her shoulder and sighed when she saw that no one was following her. She walked over to a bench and sat down. Her aunt's boy toy had just tried to kill her again. How many times had that happened; Three, four? He wouldn't be coming after her for a while, but she still had to worry about her aunt's other assassins.
Her aunt wouldn't stop until Ria was either dead or coming back to Russia. And to Ria, both were out of the question.
~~~
Frisco walked into the hotel room to find Robert ready to go. Robert pushed past him and went out to the car. "I want to check the docks first," he said. "Then we check her hotel room."
Frisco nodded and climbed into the driver's seat and drove towards the docks.

~~~
Ria looked up. "Oh hell," she muttered, seeing Robert and Frisco. "What do you two want now?"
"To talk," Frisco answered.
"You've done your talking."
"No we haven't," Robert said. "If you come with us now and talk, you won't have to face anyone else in this town."
"And if I don't?"
Frisco pulled a gun out of his pocket. "Then we shoot you, you go to the hospital and deal with all the questions there. It's your choice, we really don't care either way."
She sighed.
"Look, Ria, we know about what happened earlier, we can protect you from Alina and her people."
"Do you honestly think that you can get the best of Alina? It's impossible. I know that."
"Ria," Robert said.
"She tried to kill me a few minutes ago, I used her training to save myself." She turned away from them. "I refuse to be bested by her or her people."
"Ria, tell us how her organization works, how it functions and you won't have to worry about her," Robert said.
"Robert, why don't I just shoot her?" Frisco asked.
"No," the older man said. "Make your decision."
"I left Russia because of her organization, I won't be dragged down by the WSB either." She turned back to face them.
"It's your choice, Ria. You come with us, now, or Frisco will shoot you."
"Go ahead, Jones, I know that you have the itchy trigger finger when it comes to me."
Frisco smiled. Robert sighed.
"Which do you want, Ria?" Robert asked. "You can talk to us or you can go to General Hospital where many of your sister's friends work?"
"Neither," Ria said.
"Okay, Frisco, go ahead, just don't kill her."
"What makes you think any of these tactics are going to work, Scorpio?"
Robert smiled. "I know you."
"No you don't, you knew my sister."
"You forgot?" Robert asked.
"What is there to remember? I didn't know you existed before you tried to kill me in Paris."
Robert paled slightly. "No, we saw each other in Denmark."
"They say the memory's the first to go," Ria said. "Mine's intact and I never saw you before Paris."
"Yes, you did," Robert said. "I remember clearly, unless..."
"No, it's impossible. She's dead."
"It is possible if Alina wanted to control you."
"How so?"
"Your sister's declared dead, Alina gives you your last assignment which is to neutralize us by killing our children, then she kills you, blaming it on us or even hoping that we'd kill you. Then she still has your sister to use against us in the future if we ever hoped to take her out."
"It seems like Alina," Ria said quietly.
"Wait, are you two suggesting that...?" Frisco asked.
"Yes," Ria answered. "Tania's alive."
