| Chapter 13 Asia Raine quickened her pace, she knew that Taggert was following her. He wasn't obvious, but she knew, she had been trained by the best of the best within the KGB and later the DVX and Charlotte Devane's organization. She glanced behind her to see him round a corner. With a sigh, she headed for the docks, the perfect place to get away with murder. ~~~ The first thing Luke realized when he sat up in the woods was the ringing in his ears. He saw Alex laying on the ground a few feet to his right and Mac was about thirty yards to his left. He slowly stood up and went to Alex who was coming to. He helped her stand and they went over to Mac who was leaning against a tree. A few minutes later both Robert and Anna approached them. Luke was the first to speak. "When I agreed to help you Devane, I didn't expect any of this," he gestured towards the burning house. Anna looked at him. "Well, Spencer, no one invited you along." "Yeah right, it was either help you or get myself killed." ~~~ Zander sped down the highway towards town. "Where are we going?" Robin asked him. "Well," he said looking at his watch. "I'm do at Spoon Island for breakfast in half an hour so I guess we can go there." "Spoon Island?" Robin asked. "Yeah." ~~~ "What are you two talking about?" Robert asked. "Nothing," Luke mumbled. Anna sighed. "Okay, now what?" Alex asked ~~~ Stefan walked into the sitting room at Wyndemere to find Nikolas and Lucky. "Have your guests arrived yet?" "No," Nikolas answered. Stefan nodded as his chief of security walked towards him. "Sir, the Scorpio/Devane safehouse just blew up." "Was anyone hurt?" Stefan asked. "Not that we can tell." "The children?" "We don't know where they are sir. They got into Luke Spencer's car and drove off before the explosion." "Find them before someone else does." The man nodded. "What's going on Uncle?" Nikolas asked. ~~~ "Now," Luke said, "we find out who did this." "Most likely Helena," Anna said. "Probably," Luke said with a sigh. "Asia." "What?" Anna asked her sister. "Explosives were Asia's favorite," Alex said looking at the burning cabin as sirens approached. "And we never did find a body," Luke said. "Okay, so why would Helena have Asia do this?" Anna asked. "Maybe it wasn't Helena," a voice said from behind them. ~~~ "Nothing that concerns you right now Nikolas," Stefan said as voices floated in from the foyer. Zander, Michelle, Robin, and Andrea walked into the room. "Where is she?" Zander asked a coldness in his voice. "Downstairs." "Good. We need to talk." "I know." "You know about the explosion," Robin noted. "Yes, my men say that no one was hurt." Robin and Andrea breathed a sigh of relief. ~~~ Taggert watched Asia as she walked. There was something about her movements. She was planning something. He was trying to as obvious as possible about following her, and he was succeeding. They were both on the docks near the Corinthos/Morgan warehouse. Her step faltered as she came upon Jason and several of his men on the docks. He saw her glance over her shoulder at him. He quickened his own pace. He was ten feet behind her when she pulled out a gun and started shooting. ~~~ Everyone turned to face the newcomer. Luke grinned. "Hey Corinthos, what are ya doin' here?" "I got a call from Sean telling me to get out here. Now does someone want to explain why my safehouse is on fire?" "Your safehouse?" Robert asked looking at Sonny then at Luke. Luke shrugged and grinned. Anna sighed. "Who else could it be Sonny?" "Unofficial channels?" Sonny asked. Anna nodded. "They know you're here." "Ah hell," Luke muttered. ~~~ Sean drove Frisco, Erica, and Kyla to his and Tiffany's house. Another car was parked out in front but they thought nothing of it as they walked into the house. "Tiff, who's here?" Sean called out. "Sean...I," Tiffany said as she walked out of the kitchen. Two men followed her. Erica instinctively held onto Kyla tighter. "What's going on here?" Sean asked the two men. "Mr. Donelly," one of the men said moving closer to them. Frisco moved in front of Erica and Kyla. "Why are you two here?" Sean asked coldly. "We came for them," the second man said motioning towards Frisco and Erica. ~~~ "Do you know where thay are?" Anna asked Sonny. "No, my people lost track of them." "Dammit," Luke said. "What's next?" "Commissioner?" An officer asked when he approached the group. "Yes," Mac asked coldly. "Cesar Faison escaped custody." Anna groaned. Alex sighed. Luke watched as Robert tried to control his temper. Luke shook his head. What was next? ~~~ Zander and Stefan went up to Stefan's study and closed the door. "What do you know?" He asked Stefan. "Faison has escaped police custody." Zander sighed. "And the people who want your mother dead are here in Port Charles." Zander looked up at him. ~~~ "What's going on here?" Nikolas asked. "Who are you?" Robin, Michelle and Andrea looked at each other as Emily walked into the room. "Sorry I'm late," she said. "Is Zander here yet?" "Yeah," Lucky said. "He's upstairs." "Why?" "He's talking to my uncle," Nikolas said as a cell phone rang. It was Robin's. She left the room to answer it. Emily glanced at Andrea and Michelle. "Who are you?" She asked them after Robin came back. "I don't think that concerns you," Michelle answered. Lucky chuckled. He liked Michelle, she definately had the Scorpio spirit. Zander and Stefan came down the stairs. Zander went over to Andrea, Robin, and Michelle. "I need you three to stay here until I get back," he said. "Why?" Michelle asked. "I have something that I need to take care of alone." "What?" Robin asked. Zander looked at her and mouthed, 'They're here.' She got the message and nodded. "Zander?" Emily asked. He looked at her and sighed. "Why don't we sit down to breakfast," Stefan suggested before walking into the dining room. Michelle looked at her brother who nodded. She smiled and followed Nikolas, Lucky, and Andrea. Once Robin was sure that Michelle was out of earshot she turned to Zander. "How do you know?" She asked. "Stefan told me, he also said that Faison had escaped." "Bloody hell," she muttered. "Zander, what's going on?" Emily asked. "Nothing," he told her with a smile. "Robin just stay here, I've got to find my mother." "I'm going with you." "No, you're staying here." "Zander," she said. "You won't tell me what to do." "I won't?" He sighed again. "Fine, you can come with me." He turned to Emily. "Go have breakfast with your friends." "Not until you tell me what's going on," she said stubbornly. "I can't Em," he said. "It's too dangerous." "Zander, please." He looked at Robin. "Let's go, we'll explain on the way." Emily nodded and the three left. |
