| Chapter 5 The next day Jared was back to his usual self. He was playing and begging to go home. Stefan and Esme' were in his room when Tony walked in. "Yes, Dr. Jones," Stefan said. "Well I just looked over Jared's chart and I can see no reason for him to have to stay in the hospital any longer. The toxin has been flushed out of his system." "Can I go home now?" Jared asked, emmiting a laugh from the adults. "Yeah, as soon as someone can sign the release papers." "I will," Stefan said. He left the room, Tony turned to Esme'. "I saw my brother in here last night." "So?" Esme' asked innocently. Tony shook his head and left the room. /\/\/\ Tanya Lasiteris knew what her job was. Ever since her employer had learned of Jared's health, though, Tanya's job had changed. She no longer had to take care of the child because the child was going to die. Tanya prayed that her own plan would work so the sweet litle girl didn't have to pay for her parents' mistakes. /\/\/\ A few hours later Jared was home and happily playing. Esme' put the twins to bed then went to Stefan's study. He came over to her when she entered. They kissed passionatly, then parted. "I need to go to the mainland." "Why?" Stefan asked. "I need to see Sonny. There is something that I need to tell both of you." "What is it?" "Only once," she said. He nodded and followed her to the launch. Sonny was waiting for them on the dock. "I was about to come out there," he said embracing his sister. "There is something that I need to tell both of you. I've already told Gia, Alexis, and Carly and it's time I told both of you." /\/\/\ Helena seethed with anger. "Find her now!" She demanded. "We are trying Madame, but they have both disappeared." "I don't care what you have to do Sergei. I must have that child, she is vital to my Timoria." Sergei nodded, knowing that if he failed, his life would end very slowly. /\/\/\ Esme' finished her tale with tears in her eyes. She was sitting on the bench with her knees drawn up to her chest. Stefan walked up to her after a minute and pulled her off of the bench and held her in his arms whispering to her in Greek and Russian. Sonny came over and took her face in his hands. He whispered to her in Spanish. "She will pay." She looked up at him and smiled. She was about to say something when several shots rang out from different directions.
