June, 2011 Emily Bowen-Quatermaine stepped off of the jet and into the sunshine of Port Charles. She had been gone for a long time, over ten years. "Mom, why are we here?" Emily smiled at her son. "To see some family, Devin." She took his hand and together they walked to the waiting car. "Where to ma'am?" The driver asked. She gave him the address to the Quartermaine mansion. She sat back and closed her eyes, praying that everything would be okay for her and her son. ~~~ Zander Smith walked into Sonny and Carly's penthouse. He saw his daughter, Alexia playing with her cousin Lily on the floor. He smiled and made himself comfortable as Sonny came into the room. "What'd you need?" Zander asked. "We're having some problems with Caruso." "What kind of problems?" "He's making a move on our territory. Jason's got some men on the streets looking for information but that may not be enough." "What do you want me to do?" "Can you find out anything from your sister?" "I don't know. I haven't spoken to her in over a year. The last time we talked she was going to Milan." "Can you try to find her and see if she can get anything on Caruso?" "I'll see what I can do." Sonny nodded and Zander left the penthouse. ~~~ Emily and Devin walked up to the front of the mansion. She rang the doorbell, letting out a deep breath. Reginald answered. "Emily?" "Hello Reggie," she said smiling. He grasped her hand and led her and Devin into the library where Lila was. "Emily," she said happily, taking her granddaughter's hand. "I'm so happy that you're back." "I am too. Grandmother, I would like you to meet my son, Devin." Lila looked at him and smiled. "Hello Devin." "Hello." "Grandmother, where is everyone?" "Edward and Skye are dealing with ELQ business, Alan and Monica are at the hospital, and AJ is with his family, I believe." "AJ got married?" "Yes, about eight years ago. Hayley Barrow, she had a son before they got married, Xavier, and together they have a daughter Kaitlin." "I guess I'll have to catch up on the past ten years, won't I?" "Yes, you will. Reggie, can you take Devin downstairs to get something to eat while Emily and I talk?" "Of course Lila." Reginald walked over to Devin who looked to his mother for approval. Emily smiled and nodded. They left the room. Emily sat across from Lila as she started talking. ~~~ Jason walked into his and Robin's penthouse. He could see that no one was home. He took his leather jacket off and tossed it on the sofa. He was about to go upstairs when there was a knock on the door. He quickly answered it. Seeing Sonny he moved away allowing his partner to enter. "Any word on Caruso?" Sonny asked. "Not yet, but we're working on it." "Good, Zander's going to call his sister and see what she can find out." "Can we trust her?" "Yeah, she's loyal to him even if she is an agent." ~~~ Hayley Barrow-Quartermaine slammed her bedroom door. She went to her closet and pulled out a duffel bag and started throwing closthes into it. "Hayley...pease...on't go..." AJ said, coming into the room. His words were slurred and he couldn't walk straight. He ran into the dresser. Finally he got over to Hayley. He tried to wrap his arms around her. "Get off of me AJ," she said, pushing him away. She looked towards the door and saw her son. "Xavier, take Kaitlin and go to the Quartermaine mansion." Xavier didn't hesitate. He got his sister, some of her toys, his cell phone, and walked out od the house. Hayley went into her son's room and started to get some things for him as well. AJ followed her and again tried to wrap his arms around her and kiss her. She pushed him away but he wouldn't stop. She could smell the alcohol on his breath. "No more AJ." She pushed him away. She was about to leave Xavier's room when he pushed her back. She stumbled and fell, hitting her head on the dresser. AJ walked over, kicked her a couple of times, getting no response he left the room, grabbing his keys and jacket before leaving the house. ~~~ Xavier was abou half-way to the Q mansion when he pulled out his cell phone. He didn't know who to call. He made a decision and dialed Jason's phone. ~~~ Jason shook his head. "I don't know Sonny." "What do you mean?" "The past ten years, business has been really good." "So?" Jason shook his head as his cell phone rang. "Morgan." "Jason, it's Xavier." Jason caught a tremor in his voice. "What happened?" "AJ, he was drunk when I got home and he hit her." "Where are you now?" "Almost to the Quartermaines." "Good, go there, don't leave." Jason hung up the phone and slid it back into his pocket. "Problems?" Sonny asked. "AJ," Jason answered before grabbing his jacket and leaving. ~~~ Stefan Cassadine sat back and regarded the man in front of him. "Have you found the child?" "Yes, Mr. Cassadine, we have." The man handed Stefan a file folder. "This is everything?" "Yes." "Very well, then Mr. Mathison." Stefan gave a slight nod of dismissal before opening the file. ~~~ Helena Cassadine watched the moniter in front of her. She smiled slightly. Her plan was falling into place. She picked up the phone and dialed a number. "Find out where Mrs. Eckert is staying." ~~~ "So, Emily, what has happened to you these past few years?" Lila asked. "A lot." "Like what?" "Grandmother, I...uhm...I got married." ~~~ Jason walked into the mansion and called out for Hayley. He didn't get an answer. He went to the second floor and searched every room. He reached the end of the hall where Xavier's room was. Not knowing what to expect, Jason opened the door cautiously. He saw Hayley, uncounscious on the floor. He went to her while pulling out his phone and calling an ambulance. ~~~ AJ swerved to the oppostie side of the street, narrowly missing another car. He pulled into the driveway of the Quartermaine mansion and parked the car. He got out, nearly falling over himself, and turned around to see Xavier walking towards the house. He walked right up to AJ after telling Kaitlyn to go inside. "Where's my mother?" "How the hell should I know?" AJ said. His words were slurred and Xavier had to strain to hear what he was saying. "You were with her when I left." "So?" "Damn't AJ. What did you do to her?" Xavier demanded. "I didn't do anything. She tried to leave." "And how did you stop her?" "I pushed her, she fell. Now, if ya don't mind, I'm gonna find another drink." "No you won't." "What'd you say to me?" AJ asked leaning over Xavier. "You won't get another drink." ~~~ Jason watched as the paramedics loaded Hayley onto the ambulance and drive away. He pulled out his cell phone. "Corinthos." "Hey, Sonny, can you send someone to pick up Xavier at the Quartermaine's?" "Yeah sure. What happened?" "From what I could tell he hit her, then later pushed her and she hit her head." "You wanna piece of him?" "Yeah, but it will have to wait, I need to check on Hayley." "I'll get Xavier down there." "'Kay," Jason said before he hung up the phone. He sighed and got onto his motorcycle. ~~~ "And wha exactly are you gonna do to stop me?" AJ taunted. He was watchind Xavier's face so closely that he didn't see the kid's fist hit him right in the jaw. AJ fell to the ground rubbing the right side of his face. He finally stood back up. "Why you little bastard," AJ said. He backhanded Xavier across the face. Xavier fell to the ground, blood coming from the corner of his mouth and his nose. |
