Website: geocities.com/cristorly E-Mail: [email protected] Writer without distinction of any literary genre, inventor of the modular Christian game "Omni-Jesus", and Unitarian Universalist Ekklesial Biblical Christian Believer. Born on August 1st, 1962. In Meta-Poetry he has found an ideal medium of expression according to the visionary insights of Jorge Pia and other writers since 1991. He has been awarded many literary prizes at Loyola Polytechnic Institute (Instituto Politcnico Loyola -IPL-), Santo Domingo Autonomous University (Universidad Autnoma de Santo Domingo -UASD-), Cibao Alliance Cultural Society (Sociedad Cultural Alianza Cibaea), House of Theater (Casa de Teatro), The Southern Informant (El Informador del Sur) (newspaper), The Newspaper (El Peridico) (newspaper), San Cristbal Chamber of Commerce and Production (Cmara de Comercio y Produccin de San Cristobal), General Direction of Promotion to Youth (Direccin General de Promocin a la Juventud), and "Equilibrium" TV Program (Programa de TV "Equilibrio"). Alcntara was usually at the top of his class and his last academic index was an average of 95.4 at Santo Domingo Autonomous University (Universidad Autnoma de Santo Domingo -UASD-), the first university in the Americas. He was an ESL teacher at the Dominican-American Cultural Institute (Instituto Cultural Domnico-Americano) and The English Center. Alcntara is also a literary translator and has written numerous and diverse articles for national and local newspapers in the Dominican Republic and San Cristbal, his hometown. He is experienced as both an art and literary critic. Lately he is experiencing the roots of Meta-Poetry as a valid artistic movement that leads to an avant-garde relationship between the writer and reader as active agents in an innovative reader-writer Poetics. A paradigmatic sample of this new approach can be found in his short-story "The Ineffable Death". He published the critical-anthological book "Meta-Poetry of mine!" in 2003 and organized the meta-pictorial exhibits "Ludicrous Image" and "Twelve Jorge Pia's Meta-Poems". Presently, Orlando Alcntara is developing his own website developing a Christian gateway in which all believers can interact through his modular game, his fictional and theological writings about Universal Salvation in Christ Jesus, as well as a medium to market his talent as a biblical acrostic writer. (Philippians 3:8-4:20). Amen. |
