My Home I live in New England in a house that my mom says is really, really old. The house is very big and gives us lots of room to play in. Because we sometimes get a lot of rain and other times we get very hot and humid weather, it is nice to have our own indoor play area to romp in. I don't care for the rain at all but I do love the snow- it changes me from a black puli to a white puli in a matter of seconds! We have a small yard on either side of the house that will be fenced in one day soon. Across the street we have a lake with geese and ducks in it to play with. |

Sometimes mom and dad take us for a walk to the beach. It isn't a big beach like the one we visit in Maine, but it is a small penninsula with beach sand and lots of water. Usually there is nobody else but us there, so I get to swim. I just love swimming. Dalya doesn't like to swim much. She'll go in up to her elbows and then suddenly she realizes she is standing in the stuff baths are made of and she an offended look on her face then scampers back to the dry sand! On the other hand, I love water and though baths aren't my favorite, I don't mind the beach. When we go to the beach, we always play fetch with drift wood. I really like when mom or dad throws a stick into the |

water because Dalya never goes out to get it, which means that the stick becomes mine! Mom says that someday it will become hard for me to swim because I will have a full coat of cords which will get heavy in the water. I hope she'll still let me try under close supervision because it is so fun... except when I inhale water up my nose! |

What I Do For Fun |
|
|
| My mom contacted Renee because she wanted a show puli. I don't know what that really means, but I know when mom talks about shows, it means I get a day to have mommy to myself! Usually it starts with a ride in the car. When we get to a building, mom lugs in all sorts of stuff and then puts me up on a grooming table and gives me all sorts of attention, fussing with everything to make me even more beautiful. This makes me feel super special. Next we go stand around until someone calls a special number or class and then we go into an area where there aren't so many people or dogs. Some man or woman will then tell mom to run in different directions, which is pretty funny, since mom doesn't have the best coordination. I think that is why she brings me along for the run; someone has to make sure she doesn't trip! After the running, I get put up on another table and then the stranger giving the directions pets me all over and looks at my teeth. I don't really mind because they whisper nice things to me and I know if I am good, mom will give me one of my favorite treats... liver! Once we do this, I run along with mom again and then try to look pretty. Mom gets really excited when the person giving instructions comes up and gives her a colored strip of fabric! |

Mom was so excited after our very first show- the instructor person that mom called a judge gave us these! Sometimes we get them and sometimes we don't. Mom said I did good for our first show-- all I did was go for a jog with her. I had a lot of fun seeing all the other dogs and going shopping. |

Daddy came to watch me in a show one time and took these neat pictures of me! |

Here I am again on that funny table. I cannot believe that mom give me liver just to stand still! What a great deal this is! |

It is fun going to shows because sometimes there are pulis like me there. Lots of them have cords down to the ground so we look a bit different I guess. I am not one to look in the mirror much, but I've heard mom say that my cords are starting to become more apparent. She says someday that I will have long cords like they do. It has been awhile since I have been to a show but I recently got to see some pulis and have a real fun time playing. Mom, dad, and I are members of the Pilgrim Puli Club in Massachusetts. We have been to a couple meetings-- one was at a park and I got to play with lots and lots of pulis of all different ages. I had so much fun. I like seeing other dogs when we go out but there is something about seeing dogs that look just like me!
When I am not going on trips with mom, I am do the same activities that other dogs do. I have a lot of fun playing and getting into things. I always amaze my parents when I manage to get things that they think they put out of my reach. I guess I can be a bit sneaky sometimes, but I always like to keep them guessing! It used to be really good because Dalya would always get the blame, but it didn't take long for mom and dad to realize that it was me who liked to play with people things instead of dog things. Dalya is funny; she doesn't enjoy people things like I do. She is just content to play with her own toys! Go figure! As far as dog toys go, I tend to only like the one that Dalya has. Daddy is always telling mom that we only need one toy and it will keep us entertained. I guess he is right because if Dalya doesn't want it, I don't either! However, mom says we're spoiled doggies since we have two baskets overflowing with toys... If only it were cookies! |
