Richard "The Man The Legend" Carr
E-Mail: [email protected] Contact List: AIM: KilixGyro MSN: [email protected] Character Race: Human For all intensive purposes, Leonardo is a normal human being, the base race of this planet. Humans could be described as perfectly average: They have a varied range of physical and mental prowess, likewise in the ranges of agility and dexterity. However, the human race's main attribute is their resourcefulness: Human's are able to turn almost any item into a useful tool, and if they cannot, they can probably find a way to make it into something they can. However, if you looked deeper into his physical structure and DNA coding, you can easily begin to see that Dr Kyriaki is far more complex than most other human beings, thus allowing him to do some of the weird and wonderful things of which he is capable. |

| Character Description:
Name: Dr Leonardo Kyriaki Gender: Male Eye Color: Turquoise; Leonardo's eyes are a perfect mix of both green and blue, the two colours mixing as easily as sugar dissolves into water. The result is a vibrant turquoise, which gives off the impression of the peak of healthiness and human fitness. Hair Color/Style: Leonardo's hair could be said to be everything that he isn't: Short, brown, and untidy. Individual clumps of brown strands all seem to be clutching for freedom from his head in all directions at once. The result is a small mass of brown spikes that seem to spur out in random directions all at once. Age: 23 Height: 6'4" Weight: 11 stone and 11 pounds Aura Color: N/A Clothing and Other Physical Features: Leonardo Kyriaki is a man at the peak of his health; his body, whilst not amazingly muscular, is toned and strong enough for most day-to-day tasks. Recently he has found his physical strength to be increasing, but only in slight stages; for example, as a regular gym-goer, he has noticed increases of 5 to 10 kg in his average bench-press weekly, which is a rather notable increase due to the rapidity. Other aspects of his bodily prowess have been increasing slightly as well, including agility and dexterity. In terms of 'looks', Leonardo could be described as a rather handsome man; his light, turquoise eyes compliment his scruffy brown hair and slim features perfectly, and his smile has always had that gleam in the teeth stereotypically characteristic of a Doctor. As a Doctor, Leonardo has quite a few outfits in which he is regularly seen, by his friends or his patients. His speciality is as a Medical doctor, and therefore he is most often seen in the hospital wearing the signature floor-length white coat, and a stethoscope loosely hanging around his neck. Beneath this coat he usually wears a pair of navy-blue scrubs (otherwise known as a loose shirt and trousers, the shirt cut off just before the elbow) with a t-shirt beneath the shirt, the sleeves of which extend just past the elbow. However, he is also a fully qualified Surgical doctor, and therefore can be seen in the usual dark green scrubs, with a white surgical mask and bandana to prevent as much infection as possible. However, when out in the "real world"-- although he has a wide range of clothes at his disposal-- his 'favourite' outfit is quite simple. He likes to wear a pair of walking boots on most occasions, the sort which support the ankle as well as the foot, over which are the legs of a pair of boot-cut denim jeans, fastened at the top by a simple black belt. He wears a loose, dark blue shirt beneath this, which seems to have a ripple flowing across it venturing into lighter shades, and above this he has a waist length leather jacket, undone and with the collar often upturned. Specialty: Genetic Mutation Leonardo's genetic build-up is somewhat different to other Human's. Genetic Mutation's are commonmany diseases such as Sickle-Cell Anaemia are caused by them. However, Leonardo's is slightly different to these. His genetic mutation is a lot greater than most other varieties and the major alteration of his DNAwhile not affecting his physical or mental appearance in any wayallows him extra-ordinary abilities, the basest of which are displayed below. Personality: Leonardo has always been one of those "Fight the Good Fight" typesit was this that encouraged him to become a Doctor, in order to better help his fellow man. He is helpful and kind, and will usually go out of his way to fulfil a favour, even if it will not directly benefit himself. He has always been a slightly religious man; nowhere near to the extremities to which some people take their religion, but he has always sensed the sort of order in the universe that determines Good from Evil. Character Background/History: Leonardo Kyriaki's history is relatively normal. His childhood was like any other, the son of Raphael and Jennet Kyriaki, brought up on the peaceful continent of Aldaria. He never had any abnormalities as a child, nor as he progressed from baby to toddler, nor pre-pubescent to teenager. The first few years of his life seemed positively docile. He was always considered a bright kid; he passed all his exams with flying colours, top marks in each exam he took. It seemed as if he had a natural talent for learning, which seemed to leave his peers struggling in the dust. Except one, his future best friend and companion since then age of 7, Donatello Tetarti. Tetarti seemed to be Kyriaki's equal all through their education, the pair in a constant rivalry for the first years of their life. They entered every academic competition, and reached every final, and scored evenly at each turn. It seemed that these two were complete equals. That was how it seemed at first, however. But once the pair reached University level, both being accepted graciously into Adaine's top university, that Tetarti's well of knowledge seemed to dry up. His work was slipping, and if it wasn't for Kyriaki's aid he may never have made it through the course at all. They were both studying a 4 year course in Medicine, but it was evident after the end of their stay at the university that only one could truly progress to be a fully fledged doctor. Donatello left the University with a degree, and enough experience to gain a job at almost any place he chose, but Leonardo almost immediately was offered a place at the Adaine National Hospital to start his Internship. And still, nothing extra-ordinary happened. He was, as expected, a very well qualified Doctor, training through his internship and residency in both Medical and Surgical fields, and it was not long before he was made an Attending at the age of 23. And this is where we find him today, still working the long hours at the ANH, and only recently has the extra-ordinary been occurring Documented Abilities: Trisyncorpate For many people, a genetic mutation or, as they have been so lovingly dubbed, "Defect", can be a major drawback in someone's life. Anyone with Sickle-Cell Anaemia can verify this whenever they get a sudden loss of breath due to their mutated blood cells. Abnormalities in the brain can cause paralysis, autism, and even a total state of vegetation for the majority of that person's lifespan. However, Leonardo Kyriaki's mutation is far from a hindrance to his life; in fact it's a positive benefit, given his line of work. A genetic mutation in every fibre of Leonardo's DNA has led to the creation of an extraordinary enzyme, which constantly flows through every part of his body; microscopic glands line every inch of his structure, invisible to the naked eye even through their multitude. This enzyme (to which Kyriaki has assigned the name "Trisyncorpate"), instead of breaking down objects into smaller, soluble substances, as most do, has the ability to replicate and manufacture tissue similar to that around it: In essence, it is a healer. This can be used in many different ways, the basest of which are outlined below: Healing Body Trisyncorpate's extraordinary healing ability obviously has immediate benefits to Leonardo's own personal health. Since the enzyme began to be produced within his body, all manner of his bodily functions have been increasing: His agility, dexterity and strength have all been greatly improved in the few months since it's discovery in his system. The Enzyme works by either reproducing or enhancing cells activity within the body: So, as well as the current tissue's abilities being enhanced, healing due to tissue regeneration is dramatically increased; a cut or scratch that would usually take a few days to heal will rebuild itself in a matter of minutes, major wounds can heal themselves in only a day or two. Although it has never yet been proven, Kyriaki theorises that the loss of a limb could also be overcome with enough time, even if the original limb was nowhere to be found: Recent tests run on the enzyme have shown that it has a simple genetic memory. In other words, the enzyme has a map of Leonardo's body printed into it's genes, and so if any major changes occur, it be able to return his body to it's original form through the passing of time. On the same token, he has theorised that he will not age noticeably from this point on, as the enzyme will simply regenerate the skin cells at the same consistency as they are lost, and bodily decay will be a near impossibility. As well as this, the enzyme acts on the white blood cells in his blood, enhancing their antibiotic and antitoxin abilities to the extent at which most invading viruses or bacteria are eliminated a long time before major infection can spread. In other words, "Death by Natural Causes" is rendered obsolete to Doctor Leonardo Kyriaki. Healing Touch Although Trisyncorpate's ability is most obvious within his own body, it's affects are not limited therein. As the enzyme-producing glands are on every part of his anatomy, it is easy for them to be transferred to another body. However, although it will survive in another body for a substantial length of time, Trisyncorpate is only truly self-substantial in Leonardo's own body, so soon the affects will die off. However, for a period of about 30 minutes, the enzyme can act on a specific area of another's body, for example, healing up wounds that appear on the arm. However, for this to happen, the enzyme needs a bridge across to the new body: Skin to Skin contact with Leonardo, for at least a few seconds, in order for enough of the enzyme to reach and multiply. After contact, and for the period in which the enzyme will sustain itself, the new body will have almost all of the abilities given to Leonardoslightly increased strength and speed, a healing factor, and immunity against infectionbut only in the area that he had contact with. Quite obviously, the exact time that the enzyme will work is dependant on the amount of time and surface area in which contact is made, but for most cases it is roughly a half hour. Concentrated Touch Trisyncorpate is, first and foremost, a healing tool; the regenerative property it has allows for tissue regrowth and advanced infection defences. However, it is important not to forget what the enzyme actually does: Trisyncorpate allows for advanced regeneration and creation of tissue and cells. And cell regrowth can be dangerous, in some cases. Cancer is mainly caused by tumours and cancerous cells, which are brought about when cell reproduction goes into overdrive. Most tumours are simply a mass excess of cells which are harmful to the body in some way. Although Trisyncorpate would automatically revoke any such changes in Leonardo's own anatomy due to the genetic mapping in it's DNA, when acting on others it has no such guidelines in which to act. Therefore, if Leonardo can create a concentrated amount of Trisyncorpate, when this transfers to another body, the sheer concentration will result in the build up of blood clots, tumours, or worse: The severity of effects can only be determined by the target in question, and although this isn't exactly the most abrupt of attacks, it is by far one of the most subtle, and what better way to cause damage than by natural purposes. MR-Eyes One of the most brilliant advances in technology in the last few decades is by far the MRI Machine. MRIstanding for "Magnetic Resonance Imaging"allows the user to view an image of the scanned object in slices, with astounding detail. In Medicine, this allows the location of tumours, ruptures and other internal issues to become a simple task. However, the major drawback of this technique is that the target must be completely surrounded by a magnetic field, and this magnetic field is strong enough to pull any metal straight into it, for example, the metallic ink sometimes used in tattoos. However, although the exact science behind it is still somewhat of a mystery, Trisyncorpate has enabled Leonardo to gain ability very similar to this. The enzyme layers on his optic nerves, enhancing their power by many times, allowing for certain abilities on demand, such as telescopic sight to about 10x, and a increased night vision. However, the most amazing of these added abilities is somewhat similar to an MRILeonardo is able to see a translucent image of people by adjusting his eyesight, enabling him to see through most objects, and see their internal makings. Although some of his closest friends know about this ability, he refrains from telling the Hospital in order to keep some of the slim spare time he still has available. |
