These are your pretty basic rules and all we ask is that you follow them. As soon as you read them, please just click the join button at the bottom of the page.
Swearing: Try to keep swearing at a minimal. I understand you can make a point and show your characters personality or feelings better by using them sometimes but try not to unless it is 100% necessary. Words like damn, crap, hell etc. are okay to use without any punishment (unless you go WAY over the top with them and abuse this allowance), but words that are racist or segregate someone (I.E.: faggot) are NOT permitted in any sense, NO allowance.
Detail: To put it bluntly, include at least some detail with your posts. I don't mean that you have to go into SO MUCH detail that you end up writing an essay per post. A basic, set rule would be around a paragraph or two with some basic detail. And please try not to use run-on sentences for an entire paragraph; as the two great online RPGs known and Legends of Dragonia and Forced Heroes put it: "I'm not a very good writer" is not an excuse, complex sentences and paragraphs are studied by fourth grade (or primary school for us English people). If you're not a fourth grader yet, then...uh...I don't know..." Compare these two paragraphs, and you may see what I mean:
A) Ryan walked along the path. He fell down on the ground over a log. He looked up at the sky and noticed smoke. "This is bad. What could be wrong?" he said. He took off towards the smoke.
B) Walking down the long and narrow path, Ryan looked at the trees and animals that lived in this habitat. Obviously not paying much attention at all, as he was to fixate upon the lovely scenery, Ryan accidentally and most certainly out of pure clumsiness walked into a log that had fallen straight into the middle of the path. Completely tripping head over heels, Ryan seemed to almost have collapsed in midair only to fall to the ground with a thud. Slowly he staggered up once more as he checked around to see if anyone had seen him make a complete fool of himself, but of course know one had done as he was completely isolated in this place. Laughing at himself some, as there really was know one else there to do it for him, he lifted his head upwards only to finally notice it. He turned his head to the west, sensing a massive smoke could slowly ease its way up into the blue sky above. "This doesn't even early look good. I can't sense anything bad in the air or even smell the smoke...I have to check this out" He said; his voice at a mere whisper as he spoke, only showing concern in his voice. Slowly bending his knees Ryan took off into the sky with one almighty jump as he flew onward towards the fire, he needed to investigate more.
Now my partner in crime and myself do understand that sometimes you'll have writers block or something along those lines and post one-liners. Just please try not to do it all of the time. Just do you best, that's all that's being asked here.
Being Respectful to your fellow role-players:
01) NO God Moding: There is no one person in this RPG greater than another; everyone begins with an equal advantage of being top gun, which is one of the reasons why this RPG is great! Within this rule includes two factors that are extremely important:
~Do not avoid every attack that is thrown at you
~Do not automatically hit an opponent (Give them a fair chance to avoid it).
Clause to the Auto-Hit Rules 01: During a role-play fight, when your opponent doesn't respond to an attack after THREE whole days it is considered an automatic hit, no matter what the reason may be. During important fights (such as a tournament or a major battle in a saga etc.), it is downgraded to one day to speed things up and this also encourages people to post more.
Clause to the Auto-Hit Rules 02: The main villain of a saga has an advantage over a normal character. They are allowed special privileges to this rule since they are stronger opponents, and their weaknesses won't be known until later into the saga. You may be on the end of a few auto-hits, but the owner of the villain will not be abusive with this power, or it WILL be stripped from them.
02) Don't exclude other people from posting, but don't go crazy with the posting either (It's kind of hard to explain a character being in 50 places at once). If you wish a thread to be private remember to post this at the very beginning of your thread so as to let everyone know.
03) Treat Everyone with Respect: No one person is greater than another. You can call people "n00b" or whatever, just don't be jackasses about it (I.E.: I don't like you because you're a newbie).
04) Controlling characters: You cannot and I mean CANNOT control another player's character without their absolute permission. This includes not only the rule on auto-hitting and killing other characters, but also posting actions for other characters without their owner's approval.
05) Killing: If you actually wish to "kill" someone, contact the owner of the character first and check if it's OK. They may want to get something in return, after all nothing is free and you are asking a lot of them. No one likes it when people try and kill our characters without our permission; so don't bother typing "Kills Ryan" because you'll just be ignored and even punished if you do it continuously.
06) Play Fair: As I said earlier don't try and be "an all powerful warrior", we simply don't have those in this RPG, we let our main characters get the crap beaten out of them or we don't make them out to be "too cool" and stuff. Its funny to laugh at us sometimes.
Spamming: Spamming is sometimes considered a problem sometimes among our members. To put it blunt, it is tolerated to an extent, but when it is done excessively it gets aggravating and action will be took Spamming includes the following:
~ Posting One Word/Sentence (Ever noticed how it's sometimes hard to load a page, just so you can read a "yeah" comment?).
~ Posting off Topic (Example: Posting about DBZ in a thread about hot dogs).
~ Double-Posting (There is an edit button people, so please use it!).
Now although these aren't the only cases of spamming, these are the most common. In most cases, it will be ignored and nothing will be done, but other things that will happen include deletion of post, reduction of post count, and if serious enough, suspension or banning. Be careful about how much you SPAM!
Elemental Information
There are a few rules about Elementalists and how the site will be run. There aren't many and remember, you don't have to be an elementalist, you can always be a fighter, warrior, etc. All we ask is that you abide by the rules.
~As an elementalist, once you choose to be one element, you cannot manipulate another one. You are bound to your initial element. ~If when first joining you choose to manipulate multiple elements, you are aware that you cannot control more than two elements and they cannot be opposites of each other. Water opposes Fire, Earth opposes Air. ~Also if you choose to manipulate two elements, you cannot overpower someone of the same element who only specializes in that one. Ex. you can't launch a fireball at a fire elementalists incoming fireball and nullify it. Their flame is stronger. ~With the exception of fire, all other elements require that the element be around you to manipulate it. Fire is first learned to create and then use. ~If you start off as a warrior and want to become an elementalist, you must contact a staff member and have a staff controlled NPC teach you how to use it.
Additional Stuff
1) Additional Techniques: Crimson Renaissance does not take the conventional shape that most RPGs of todays time have and the reward system is exactly the same. Since CR doesnt use a credit system like most RPGs I bet what your all just dieing to ask me is just how you obtain new and additional techniques for your character? Well Ill tell you, as its actually quite simple. All you have to do is email/send one of us Admins a personal message requesting to learn a new move, the name of the move and a description for it also and if we think its acceptable then well notify you accordingly. Now you dont get the move straight away and for free, oh no, to actually get the move all you have to do is role play about your character actually learning the move, if we think its acceptable then you shall get rewarded. Heh, I guess there is a reward system for this site.
2) Additional Characters: Now when you first join we give you your own character free of charge, aint we nice? Now if you feel like a change of character or even having a separate one for any reason in particular then your wish is only 200 posts away. Now I know that 200 posts does sound like a lot but having another character is a privilege that has to be earned, not only by the 200 posts but also through top quality rping. Of course youll also need permission from the Admins but were not that bad, and quite nice I would say.
3) Exchanging: Now it is possible to either exchange a character or a move for free but there is some rules in doing so. In exchanging a character you must know that you will be swapping youre existing character for a new one so you will NOT be able to us them after the transaction. When exchanging a move we follow the same rules, after the transaction you will no longer be able to use the old move. Understand this and youll do just fine.
Other than all that people you can do just about anything you want, of course there are a few un-written rules that apply to anything, mainly common sense, but other than that feel free to enjoy yourself! |
