Character Background/History: Once the son of a proud merchant who worked his way up to the top of the upper class, Cayden Aedan had the world set before him. The life in the lap of luxury was giftwrapped for the boy, unless of course he found some way to screw it up. As with what normally happens with boys in their teenage years, they go through their rebellious stage in which nothing they have laid before them is good enough and they can do better. At 17, he decided to take hold of his mediocre skill of fire manipulating and put it to the test in one of his father's mines. This particular one happened to be a coal mine and he wanted to make his own diamonds from the coal.
Sad to say that once he ignited the flame, it spread throughout the coal in the mine and ignited most of it, including the wood used to hold the mine up and keep it stable. He started to run to escape the mine, but was cut off by the collapsing ceiling. His last hope was trying to use his abilities to control the flame, but sadly it was more than he could bare. His attempt to control resulted in an explosion of flame that scarred his eye bitterly. The mine collapsed around him and now he was on his own, in pain, and scarred.
Thankfully, his father was able to rescue the boy from his prison and it seemed, for the moment, he was saved. However, all it takes is one moment to lose it all. The financial loss of that one particular mine put his father in the red and made him lose many negotiations. One by one, businesses turned to others saying that he could not run business if he could not control his son. The end result being that Cayden was disowned by his own father in an attempt to revive the company and its profits. Sadly accepting his fate, he left to join the military. Here, he was beaten, treated harshly and forced to work more than he had ever done before.
It was also here that he met a great Fire Elementalist who taught him how to control the fire within over the next five years. He soon became a master controller of the flame and was ready to move on. He picked up his things and left the military, heading back to his home town in the middle of the night. Now was when he picked up his double life, Warrior of power and Master Elementalist of Flame. He dawned the mask of a red demon dressed in a fire red suit and entered the same mine he destroyed. Took two decently sized rocks of coal and began to form them into diamond blades. Emerging from the mine, he placed the two blades on either side of his belt and focussed his energy, firing a flame up atop the mine inscribing a message. "Remember your son..." Ever since, he has worked more or less as a hand for hire for whoever needed him most, whether it be the proud elementalist or the dangerous warrior.
Documented Abilities:
Diamond Blades: The blades were formed by his own hands and are actually a perfect symetrical pair of chinese style blades that can clip together and be used as one. The time it took him to craft these blades was immesurable, but he left out no detail. They were beautiful blades worth a small city. However, he chooses not to always have them visible to the people of the world for risk their greed may be the cause of their own demise at his hands.
The Fire Element Master: After his intense training with one of the great fire elementalists, Cayden learned to be a master of the flame that as he came to learn originates within him. The fire element is unique from all the other elements in the sense that it doesn't have to be around him for him to use it. Fire is actually an extension of the heat within the body multiplied into flame. Flame, just like almost any other elementalist manipulation is used through the motions of the hands. Being a master includes several abilities that many elementalists cannot comprehend.
1. Hold of Flame: This ability is actually the ability to stop a flame from spreading. It has many uses, but the most common are actually using it to form temporary weapons from the flame which when concentrated as much as they can be actually work like your basic metal weapon.
2. Projectile Flames: This is the ability to create the fire using your own body heat and multiply, but send it flying outward in the form of a ball or a beam in the sense of it being a solid flow from his hand. These of course come direclty from his body.
3. Flames of Afar: This is the ability that lets him create flame using other things around him and their sources of heat. For example, in the high sunlight, he can use the heat of the sun to just spark up flames around those he wishes to attack. He can also use pre-existing flames from torches and such to attack from behind.
Lightning: This is one of the secret moves of a master fire elementalist. This move takes more preparation than most and includes more motions, but the truth is that this attack is what is called a reaper. Very few people who are struck by lightning survive the impact of the blast in nature. This ability is actually just a heavily concentrated flame that is actually fired out as lightning and all its properties, including the immeasureable speed of light itself.
