Joel's Log 1#:

August 12, 2002:

**DISCLAIMER: THE VIEWS OF JOEL BASKIN ARE HIS ALONE, AND DO NOT REPRESENT ANY OF THE THOUGHTS OR BELIEFS INVOLVING THE REST OF THE BAND.**

Hey everyone! This is Joel(the drummer for those who didn't know) checkin' in for the first edition of "Joel's Log". No, this isn't some ego trip where I tell you how I'm the most amazin' drummer since John Bonham because that's not the case.....I'm the most amazin' drummer since Lars Ulrich. Hahaha....bad drummer's joke sorry. How do you know the stage is even? The drummer drools outta both sides of his mouth! CLASSIC!

Anyway...this is just a little column to give you a little look into the band that is Crimson. The site doesn't have the best design, so I figure we'll give it the best content. That is once I figure how to jam my pictures and recordings into the computer. We're recording the show at The Super Ex on the 19(the new Crimson debuts) and we will make all recordings available on the site. We're also videotaping and taking pictures and always and we'll try and get some of that up as well, although there are lots more pictures that still need to be added!

Since Crimson's last show...Ben "left" the band....and we have a real bassist. Mike Tarp, of former Syndicate fame joined the band full-time on bass, you may remember he filled in for a few weeks in the fall. We FINALLY got a premier guitar player to play with Chi, yes pun intended. Ryan Arnone fills the "void" that was created when Ben "left" the band. Let's just say he's filling ben's shoes, and then some. Vocals.....well.....all I can say is Diamond In The Rough. Crimson was really out of options when it came to getting a male singer, with similar influences and who is somewhat our age. I know we're picky, well after having Alex Fok over for a few jams and seeing him on stage it was a no-brainer. Although he insists he's not a singer, that couldn't be farther from the truth. He has improved leaps and bounds in just a few practices, and I'm sure he'll be show-ready come the Supa-Ex.

Me and Chi are up too our usual tricks, Chi has used the downtime before we got the "new" band together to figure out how to get even crazier on stage, which is beyond me. And me? Well....just come to a show...let's just say I'll be able to play with my eyes open. Hahaha! Ever see anyone do a Drum Solo with their eyes closed? NEVER AGAIN S.R.B.! Still lots of talks goin' on involvin' upcoming shows at Babylon, Bumpers, The Rainbow, Barrymore's....and many more! The album is comin' along pretty well, the chances of us finishin' it anytime soon are about just as good as Chi bein' able to sell Ice in the Egypt(only chi will understand...). Anyway, I've already spent too much time this summer in front of a computer....so it's time to go whack the sh*t outta my skins. Out. See you at the show(s)!

Yours Truly,

Drummer Extraordinaire.....or Joel.
