Some examples of Felony Murder: 
(I'm not making these up, they're actual cases that were sighted by 
Dressler in your UNDERSTANDING CRIM book... p. 480).

1. A robber walks into a bank and tells everyone to lie on the floor 
while he robs the teller. Valerie, who had heart disease, died from 
fright. The robber is guilty of murder using the FMR-- underlying 
felony is robbery.

2. Joe accidentally shoots Victor in the chest during a felony. The 
gun shot permanently damages Victor's heart but he lives. TWO YEARS 
LATER, Victor dies from a heart attack while he's in the backyard 
playing basketball. Joe is guilty of murder using FMR. 

3. Lisa carries a gun in her purse. A man tries to steal a watch 
from her purse and the gun dishcarges. Lisa dies. Yes, he's guilty 
of murder, under FMR.

4. If Sam was an accomplice to any of the 3 crimes above, HE would 
also be GUILTY of murder under FMR.
