| Unwind yarn from skein, ball, or cone onto a home-made peg warping board (Fig 1), or the back of two chairs placed a couple or so feet apart. (Fig 2 If you are lucky enough to have a winder or niddy noddy these will work too. Tie at intervals loosely in a figure 8 fashion. (fig 3). |

| Before washing test a small piece of yarn to assure you won't loose the whole skein. Wash in warm water using Sal Soda or washing soda, (Maybe found at Drug stores or at Earth Guild, my favorite supply store.) I use a brown handmade soap that I get from a local flea market that works well. Rinse thouroghly. Be sure to be consistant with temps. No sudden changes to prevent felting, especially with wool. Wring out gently and hang to dry as in Fig.4 This blocks the yarn. (Not so important with acrylics but very important with wool and cotton.)
