| What is Venturing? Venturing is a youth program for individuals ages 14-21 and who have graduated 8th grade. It is a co-ed program of the Boy Scouts of America. What do you do? Each venturing "crew" varies. There are five different focus areas of venturing, crews can decide which focus area they would like to participate in. What are the focus areas? Outdoors, Religious Life, Sports, Arts and Hobbies and Sea Scouts (Boating), make up the five focus areas. What makes Venturing different from other youth programs? Venturing crews are run by the youth. Adults are involved, but their role is to advise youth how to carry out activities, not run the activities for the youth. Venturers can also earn awards and advancement. Most awards are recognition for work done in the community. Tell us about Crew 351... Crew 351 is based in SE Portland.
