      Below is a list of common slang and technical terms found in the City. A work in progress.

      Archer's Row: street in the Lower City known for its bar and nightclub scene
      aura: as in 'vampyre aura;' the hormone chemical 'aura' apparent to vampyre eyes identifying one vampyre to another immediately at first sight; appears as a faint grayish outline around the targeted vampyre
      avatar: computer rendering of an individual used to represent oneself in the Virtual IntraNet

      black list: Delos Militia Patrol maintained list of Patrol defectors, occupants marked for termination upon sight
      Blackwall: gang controlled urban residential district situated between the Lower City's Industrial Centre and Archer's Row
      Blood Lust: physical and mental state entered into by blood famished vampyres, marked visibly by a distinctive luminescent silver hue in the irises and raised emotional states
      burn out: Virtual IntraNet synapse meltdown; a virus entered into the IntraNet capable of destroying the brain cells of the frontal lobes connected with memory, personality, and logical reasoning

      card: short for credit card, the instrument of monetary trade in Delos City
      Citizen Protocol ID Number: (CP number) a segment of the CsSPM v3; CP numbers are imprinted onto a CP tag, a pin prick sized metal tracking device implanted into the base of the skull of every citizen upon birth
      Citizen Undernet Database: L.D.H.O. maintained list of citizen CP serial numbers
      Com Chatter: slang term for radio short speak
      Com Link: Radio Communication Wave channel, often used by the Delos Patrol
      ComPhone: compact travel versions of holoboards
      credit: unit of monetary value, equivalent roughly in value to that of the previous United States dollar
      Crestfallen: an individual abandoned by society; also, specifically in reference to the members of the urban Spider's Dusk movement
      cutter: inhaler device used for the drug glass; oblong in shape, & small enough to be cupped easily into palm, usually gray with an unnaturally smooth surface
      CsSPM v3: short for Citizen Supervisional Security Protocol Measure version 3 (See Technology for details)

      DECA: (Delos Experimental Collegiate Authority) major Skylark funded science research facility located in the southern sector of the Upper City
      Dove: (or Blackdove, See Intermediate for details)
      Dream Children: desert wanders, the fragments of humanity said to nomadically roam the Wastes

      EMC: Electro-Magnetic motoCycle, or alternately Electro-Magnetic Craft

      Fingerprint DNA stamping: a segment of the CsSPM v3; using fingerprints to track or otherwise permit entry into various public and private databases, housing and business establishments

      glass: lysergic acid trithylamide, relative of the hallucinogen LSD, but with long term effects more closely associated with those of heroin and/or crack cocaine

      holoboard: holographic communication device
      Halo Fourteen: famous 'invite only' high-tech techno nightclub in the Upper City
      HoloImagery: slang for any assortment of holographic images
      digiscan images: video footage usually in reference to surveillance imagery
      Holoprojector: the base of a holocomputing device, usually consisting of a featureless black wedge approximately 1' by 1' (See Technology for more details)
      HoloTechnology: also referred to as HoloCommunications or indirectly as 'Technology's New Wave;' group term for the City's holographic technology so preeminent within Los Delos, covering everything from the City's highly realistic hologardens to holographic billboard advertisements in public areas
      HoloVision: holographic imagery version of television
      HPs: short for HoloProjections (See HoloImagry, HoloTechnology, and/or Holoprojector)
      HPV Desert Fang: .357 caliber assault projective handgun, popular on the streets due to its renowned stopping power and many adjustable laser sighted auto-tracking settings
      husk ghoul: the outcome of a failed attempt at Turning, named so for the victim's resulting (and very much dead) dried out husk-like corpse-body
      HV: (See HoloVision)
      Hypostyle: rumored desert stronghold and point of operations of the Sangiu'matii; existence unproven

      Illegal: any person deemed non-citizen status of Delos City, included but not limited to: Vampyres, illegally rendered Offspring, most private based stringers, Patrol defectors, and any other individual in violation of the City's Seven Commandments
      Intermediate: middle subdivision of the vampyre species

      Jupiter Incident: refers to the return voyage of the Skylark backed Jupiter II spacecraft in early 2110 and the preceding events (See History for more details)
      Jupiter virus: nickname for trochosis dilmethia, the genetically altering 'Vampyre' virus, named so for its connection to the Jupiter II spacecraft

      Los Delos Patrol Square: series of campuses in the eastern sector of the UC where future Patrol soldiers are trained
      Lower City: original portion of Los Delos City to the south, known for its rampant crime rate, swelling Offspring and Vampyre populations, and decrepit buildings

      machina alterations: metal or otherwise machine based alterations, usually implemented in the Offspring subgroup of humans
      Maker: the sire of a vampyre
      neo-glo fixture: any assortment of neon lighted light fixtures, common in Delos City

      NCMvIII: Net Communication Medium, version III; programming language of the Virtual IntraNet
      Newblood family: the newest of Intermediate family lineages
      NuFu: New School Kung Fu

      Oldblood family: Vampyre Intermediate lineage traceable to the first hundred or so sexually reproductive Doves, including the very first generation of High Blood-Turned Doves


      >>P
      Pan South Labs: major Skylark funded science research facility located in the southern sector of the Upper City
      Parvius: roughly translated in adjective form as 'of little worth,' 'puny,' or 'from infancy' in sh'Sane'lo'cras; term used by the Sangiu'matii to refer to Low Blood vampyres
      Patrol, the: (See Los Delos Militia Patrol for details)
      perp: (short for perpetrator); a bothersome person or thug
      Pit, The: popular Vampyre grunge nightclub in the Lower City, located near the intersection of Blackwall and Archer's Row
      poli-composit: common building material of Los Delos City
      Plastic Angel: notorious underground hacking organization
      PTEC: Public Trade Exchange Circuits, essentially, the LDHO term for a Mall in the Upper City; PTECs are numbered, their names appearing as such: PTECI, PTECII, etc.

      Sangiu'Rewynii: (pronounced reh'win-NEE) 'Blooded Doves' in sh'Sane'lo'cras, the popular tongue of the Vampyre nation; the highest order of Intermediate Vampyres, those born from the sexual union of two High Blood
      Seven Commandments, the: mocking Biblical inspired title of the L.D.H.O. ordinances an individual must agree to comply to upon entering into Delos citizenship: To avoid all forms of genetics and agree to report any such activity, to respect the authority and wishes of the Order, to abide by the activities of the Delos Patrol, to give up all privacy and allow oneself to be monitored full time by the Order, to report any group(s) plotting against the Order, to give up rights to all industry to be owned and run by the Order, and to agree that once one became a citizen of the City, one could never leave.
      slag: slang word for the equivelant of mush or ground debris, something that has been obliterated through force to an unrecognizable state
      Spider's Dusk: section of the Lower City consisting primarily of poor quality residential housing and a few club establishments, rampant crime rate; also, a reference to the Underground City
      stringer: hacker or computer informative/specialist

      Trams: the popular method of public transportation between the Lower and Upper City
      Trotsky's: popular bar on Archer's Row
      Turning: the process of infection and the resulting DNA alteration of a human to 'vampyre;' process includes blood exchange by both parties and transgresses several transfers over several days

      UC: (see Upper City)
      Underground City: figurative term for the growing resistance movement of urban vampyres against the Sangiu'matii (See also Spider's Dusk)
      underling: the vampyre child of a Maker
      Undernets: the core of the Virtual IntraNet, occasionally referred to as 'internets.' the primary coding text parameter section of the VI; contains the structural coding that makes the VI function, accessible only to stringers, and top clearance officials; occasionally the site of text file database information for operations such as the Delos Patrol and various other groups both private and public
      University: collective term for the Upper City's equivalent of a grade, middle, and upper school system; five University campuses exist, each referred to by their number and the letter U, appearing as such: U3, U4 etc.
      Upper City: the newer posh northern section of Los Delos City, site of business and advanced technological organizations

      VI headset: specialized headset required for accessing the Virtual IntraNet
      Virtual IntraNet: fully realistic virtual equivalent of the internet of the past; users 'log-in' via specialized headsets and may then 'surf' its linear virtual world (See Technology for more details)
