i bear true and an existing witness
    to this barrel of monkeys.
    a self proclaimed immoral success,
    perfected by each whereof
    individually deadly and equally so
and spread about the surrendered troops,
for even thousands of miles will not
tear apart their communication, or the lack thereof.
vultures, liars, thieves, each proclaim their innocence
in no suggestion or rhyme, your weapon is contained in
the wrecking of the keeping the desired effect.
the breaking of the spirit thwarts the whole being.
    your weapon is guilt

With the building of the massive Los Delos metropolis and then the perimeter walls enclosing it, a need for a small, yet well organized militia group emerged. The response--the creation of the Los Delos Militia Patrol, the L.D.H.O.'s hard core, elite police/military force charged with maintaining the "peace," enforcing the L.D.H.O. commandments, and the patrolling of the perimeter wall.

Established simultaneously with the birth of the Los Delos Humanity Order (L.D.H.O.), the Patrol became known for their ruthlessness and iron fist rule. Upon graduation of first college term, young adults are given the opportunity to make the journey to the Patrol Academy in the eastern half of the Upper City and train for a position in the elite military core. Trainees must undergo many strenuous physical and mental tests for a period of no less than three years before granted graduation and approval to proceed into full officership of the Patrol. From there they may proceed in rank and authority, and perhaps even score a position in the City's aristocracy.

To prevent rebellion, insure the survival of the L.D.H.O. (and technically its benefactor and parent company Skylark) and all morals and decrees it produces, contain the vampyre offensive movement in the City, and defend the perimeter wall of Los Delos from vampyre raids at the edge of the Wastelands.

The Delos Patrol Square is a series of campuses in the east where future Patrol soldiers are trained at the Patrol Academy. Otherwise, outlook posts along the perimeter wall and any location the L.D.H.O. deems important.

To gain entry into the Delos Patrol is fairly easy. In an attempt to promote the organization's cause, joining requirements were lowered to just about nil. If you can stomach the 3 year training period then you may enter. However, to gain anything resembling authority, one must not only possess a quick mind and strong body, but also a vast understanding of L.D.H.O. politics and policies.
Upon graduation from the Patrol Academy, soldiers go into active service and are rewarded with the rank of Field Soldier. From there they may progress along the simplistic chain of ranks, accordingly from lowest to highest: Field Soldier, Unit Commander, Faction Commander, League Captain, General. Soldiers are filed into leagues, factions, and units, all, with 26 Leagues, termed simply by their numbers, seven factions, and countless units. Factions are named after previous importants in the Patrol history.

Most notorious of these is the rumored Mandrake Faction, existence officially denied by Patrol supervisors; Reese Mandrake supposedly spearheaded the first Patrol transfers with Veil of Blackdove, an organization also denied to exist by both L.D.H.O. and Patrol sources.

Units are recognized by an alphanumeric serial number, with a soldier's unit number sewn onto a rectangular patch worn on the left shoulder of a soldier's uniform. All solider titles other than the top coveted rank of General are abbreviated when verbalized, shorted to either FS, UC, FC, or LC, with a three number tag listed afterwards, denoting that individual's specific categorization. Rank promotions are not given lightly, and achieving the next rung on the rank ladder is a special occasion. Every term (a term is equivalent to 9 standard weeks) a soldier comes up for review by a board composed of their superiors and may gain promotion at such time.
