Mass and dinner


Join us for Mass at St Gabriel’s Church, 379 Broad St in Windsor. After Mass we’ll meet at the Union St Tavern (a short walk or drive from the Church) for good pub food. Choices are:
1. Beef Kabobs: marinated in Teriyaki w/peppers, mushrooms, zucchini squash over a bed of rice pilaf. $11.95 2. Fish and Chips; Scrod,baked or deep fried,served with fries and cole slaw. $11.95 3. Pasta Primavera: Grilled vegetables:zucchini,yellow squash,portabella mushrooms,in a fire roasted marinara tossed w/penne pasta. $11.95 add chicken $2.00 add shrimp $3.00 4. Chicken Santa Fe: Blackened chicken,sautéed w/peppers, mushrooms and spinach in a light chicken stock tossed with tri-color pasta. $12.95. All entrees come w/house salad & a choice of garlic mashed potatoes,fries, baked potato or rice pilaf , if not included in your dinner choice. Does not include beverage. There will be an 18% gratuity added to the bill due to the size of our group.
This will be followed by tea, coffee and sweets at my home where the house is small and the welcome big. A video of Ireland will be shown along with a brief introduction to Christianity in Ireland given by your hostess. Event is limited to approx 20 participants on a first come basis. Hike at Community Lake


Join your host Joe D. for a hike along the linear trail at the Community Lake in Wallingford. We will meet in the parking lot. Afterwards we will go to the Pacific Buffet and Grill in Wallingford, for a delicious assortment of Chinese, and American food. Price: $13.99. After dinner we will attend 4:00 p.m. Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Yalesville. Rain or shine.

“Let’s Dance” The Dance Hall, 161 Woodford Ave in Plainville. Admission is $7 bring a snack to share with others. Beverages are available for purchase. Doors open 7:00p.m. All request music by D.J. Dan Hurley. “Pop’s Concert” New Britain Symphony Orchestra, Saturday, April 21, 6:45 p.m. Selections from Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin plus some of Broadway’s greatest hits. Join us at Welte Hall, on the CCSU campus. The tickets are $20. Call 860-826-6344 to purchase. Following concert we will meet at Border Book’s Coffee Shop near West Farms Mall, open until 11:00 PM.


Saturday, April 28 7 a.m.
All aboard for Boston!


We will meet in the commuter parking lot off of I-84 Eastbound, exit 62 at 7:00 a.m. There will be a 15 minute grace period before leaving the commuter lot. Arrive early and look for the blue/white balloons. From this point we will carpool (carpool rules - be prepared to drive, all passengers will split cost of tolls-$1.75 each way, parking fee-$3.50 & gas cost with driver) to Newton MA (Riverside-Grove St “T” stop). Here we catch the “T” (subway-must bring $3 in quarters to cover fare both ways) into Boston (Copley Square). Walk a short distance to pick up the chartered trolley for a 2 hr entertaining tour of the greater Boston area ($30+ value). We'll have lunch (approx $15) in the North end (Italian section). Then take a leisurely stroll viewing historical sites on our way back to the “T” stop at Park St (approx 1 mile). Each vehicle group can decide how much time they want to spend at historical sites along the way. Chartered trolley can only accommodate 40 persons. Walk-Against Hunger


Walk registration is located at “The Hartford Insurance Co.,” Asylum Street, Hartford. Meet at Noon (look for the blue and white balloons) to gather and enjoy the festivities. Entertainment and prizes are provided for those who participate. The prizes vary according to the amount of pledge. The walk is three miles and most can complete it in an hour. If you can’t walk, please consider sponsoring a walker. We will be collecting donations at the April events.

Safari Golf/American Steakhouse


Join your host Joe D. for a round of Golf, and then head out for a decent meal. If it rains we will meet at Safari Golf and go to dinner at the steakhouse. Safari Golf is on the Berlin Turnpike Berlin; the Steak House on West Main Street in Meriden.

“First Friday,” New Britain Museum of American Art


The Museum’s popular art and cocktail soiree is held in the new Chase Family Building. Non-members $12.00, includes Jazz band, 2 drink tickets (wine, beer or soda) cheese and crackers. Come enjoy this great “Gem.” The museum is located at 56 Lexington Street, New Britain, next to Walnut Hill Park. Dinner at Chic’s, Savin Rock, West Haven, Saturday, June 16, 5:00 p.m. Get a bite to eat at Chic's in West Haven. Afterwards we will park at St. John Vianney's Church and take a walk along the beach. We will finish the night off by stopping at The Creamery for ice cream. We will meet rain, or shine.


Litchfield, Sunday, June 10, 11:30 a.m.
Mass and a Picnic at Lourdes


Come out to enjoy fellowship together at the beautiful outdoor Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel for the 11:30 a.m. Mass. This beautiful outdoor stone grotto is modeled after the original “Lourdes in France” where our Blessed Mother appeared to St. Bernadette. Afterwards, we’ll have lunch together and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. There are walking paths, outdoor Stations of the Cross and a wonderful religious gift shop. Pack a picnic lunch or purchase food on the premises. (Look for blue/white balloons)

Summer is here! Pack a picnic and join your Credo friends! Break out your favorite Frisbee, ball and glove, volleyball, tennis, bocce ball, etc. Or if you prefer, sit back, relax & enjoy the magnificent rose garden. Rock Cats Irish Heritage Day


New Britain Stadium, Willowbrook Park, New Britain, CT. Parking is $3.00. Picnic package is $25.00 all you can eat barbeque 6:05 to 7:35 p.m. We have reserved seats behind home plate. Before the game (7:05) Irish band and step dancers will perform. Irish museum, clubs will be represented. Green hats to the first 1200 to attend. Purchase your ticket before May 1st and pay only $22.00. Send your check made payable to Credo to our P.O. Box. Join us in listening to Kurt Masur conduct and all-Mozart program. We will car pool meeting at 10:00 a.m. from one of two sites: Waterbury: (I84) Hamilton Avenue (exit 26) commuter parking lot. Or Windsor: (I91North), Day Hill Road (exit 38) commuter parking lot. Carpool rules: Be prepared to drive, all passengers will split cost of gas with driver. Join us for a scenic trip through Litchfield County. Lunch will be at Hopkins Inn, Lake Waramuag, New Preston, CT. We will travel to Cornwall past the covered bridge and more. We will car pool (be prepared to drive, passengers will split cost of gas with driver) starting from New Britain Rt.9 exit 30 commuter parking lot at 10:00a.m. Then meeting in Waterbury (I84 and Rte. 69) Hamilton Avenue commuter parking lot (exit 23) at 10:45 a.m. We will give a 15-minute grace period before leaving commuter lot. Port Jefferson Ferry


Do you like the feel of the warm summer sun on your back & a cool ocean breeze across your face? Does just the idea of doing something near or on the water excite you? Come out & join your friends for a fun- filled day by embarking on a relaxing cruise aboard the Port Jefferson Ferry as it glides across the beautiful Long Island Sound (1hr. 15min). The ship docks on the shore of the quaint village of Port Jefferson, Long Island. Enjoy strolling thru the village, browsing the shops or sampling some of the many great places to eat! Don’t miss topping the day off with a scrumptious treat at their famous Ice Cream Parlor! Then, we’ll all meet back at the dock at 6:30 p.m. for an unforgettable Sunset Cruise back across the Sound. Yankee Candle Museum, South Deerfield, MA


The museum is fascinating, Candles are produced by chandlers using early nineteenth-century processes and historically accurate materials. Create your own candles at the Dip-Your-Own candles area. Shop in the store. We will meet in New Britain at 10:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in Windsor. We will give a 15 minute grace period before leaving. Route 9 N/S to exit 30 New Britain. From North, left off ramp at second light take right into parking light. From South right off ramp, right into parking lot. Windsor meeting at commuter lot off Day Hill Rd Exit 38. Plan to arrive at Yankee Candle at 1:00 p.m. Look for Blue and White Credo sign.
