History of Wizardry

From the second I exited the womb, I aimed to see the magic in everything. It wasn’t until I could hold a pencil in my hand that I realized I could add to the bold colors and brilliant patterns of the world. I tried many different mediums, eventually finding a home in Graphic Design. I am a detail-orientated person who isn’t afraid of White Space or to experiment with the unknown. I love learning new things and sharing knowledge with others. The last few years as a part of the printing industry, I have gained important knowledge towards making sure any design for print is “print-ready”.

Work History

Gandy Printers - Graphic Designer/Pre-Press Operator

(June 2017 - CURRENT)
• Creating print-ready designs from scratch for digital and offset printing
• Operating the press (XMF) software to impose designs for printing on the offset presses
• Consulting with customers about design and helping them figure out what they want
• Creating designs and promotional material for Gandy Printers when needed

Express Printing - Graphics Intern

(May 2015 - June 2017)
• Created designs of all varieties for digital printing from scratch
• Edited Documents/Designs to get them print-ready
• Worked in conjunction with fellow team members and head Designer
• Greeted Customers and helping them with getting their order

Tallahassee Community College - Graphic Design Lab Assistant

(Sept 2014 - April 2015; Sept 2015 - April 2017)
• Maintained the Graphic Design Mac Lab
• Helped students with Graphic Design work
• Assisted Professor Roopali Kambo with any needed work
• Readied the labs for Class if needed

Eyrie: Literary and Art Magazine (TCC) - Layout Design Editor

(Jan 2015 - April 2015) Won 3rd Place Overall Excellence in State
• Constructed Inner Design and layout for the 34th Edition of the Eyrie
• Created the following pages: Content pages for all genres, Title Page, Staff Pages, Genre Winner Interview pages, and Awards Page

• Worked with fellow team members for designing the magazine

Accomplishments

• Maintains and produces Capital Medical Society’s monthly newsletter, Original design was not mine, but current workings are.
• Won 3rd Place in Overall Excellence in State competition for Tallahassee Community College’s Eyrie Magazine, 34th Edition. I was Layout Editor, responsible for designing and structuring the inside of the magazine.
