Back in the elevator Kim thought about Abby's words. Stevie wasn't Kerry's and she wasn't a baby when she lived with Kerry but she was there and she was there for several years. Kim couldn't believe she hadn't asked the two most important questions, how did Stevie come to be living with Kerry and why did she stop living with her after so long?
Kim's brain was straining trying to figure it all out. There was so much she hadn't been told, did getting taken away from Kerry add to Stevie's problems? Was she taken away or did Kerry send her away? This was like a giant puzzle. So many pieces to put together but unlike most puzzles this one was missing pieces and Kim wasn't sure how many there were to find. Without so many pieces it was hard to tell what the picture was, Kim needed more and she wasn't leaving until she got. It wasn't as if she could put the puzzle back in the box because it's too hard, if she didn't solve the puzzle it could mean the end of one young life so Kim wasn't going to give up without trying everything she possibly could to bring as happy an ending to this one as she could...even if that meant going back in and forcing Kerry to tell her everything.
