Part Six
Kerry sat on Taylor's couch. She thought about calling Sandy, she thought about going out to look for Taylor. It was the early hours of the morning. She was stuck between being tired and awake. Sometimes she wanted to sleep, other times she felt hyper. She decided to check out her friends computer. While they had their first meal after leaving the the hotel Taylor had told Kerry she had set up an online journal and had created one for Kerry too. What harm could it do to take a look. She wanted to be awake for Taylor coming back, she didn't want to fall asleep.
She turned the computer on and set out to find the online journal.
Kerry found it and considered for a moment writing in it but thought better of it. But then reconsidered.

Kerry finished her entry and surfed the web for a while. She read page after page of woman's stories and their experiences of coming out. She found a site dedicated to woman coming out in later life. She recognized herself in many of the stories. Could identify with many of the insecurities and fears. The feeling of total acceptance of her sexuality but also the feeling of dread about it. The worrying about not being 'normal'. The need to fit in but not knowing where that is anymore. She really wasn't alone in the struggle of accepting and rejecting who she is. Kerry book marked the site and thought she'd read more another time. She shutdown the computer and decided to watch TV for a while, still waiting for Taylor to come back. Kerry really was beginning to worry about Taylor now. She had been gone for close to two hours.
Kerry sat for a while not really watching the movie that was on and fell asleep. Taylor arrived home. She went into the living room and found Kerry asleep on the couch. She looked at her friend. Watched her and tried to understand what she was feeling. Taylor knew she had overreacted. She wanted to apologize to Kerry, to talk to her, reassure her and possibly herself. She went to the spare room for a cover and pillow for Kerry. It was almost morning, there's no point in waking her now Taylor thought. They both may as well grab a couple of hours sleep. Taylor gently lifted Kerry's head and gently laid it back onto the pillow. Then put the cover over her sleeping friend. She turned the TV off and went to her room to grab some sleep. Apologies could wait.
