| BYLAWS Of the CROWLEY�S RIDGE CHAPTER OF EMS ASSOCIATION The name and purpose of the association shall be as set fourth in the articles of organization. These bylaws, the powers of the association and of its directors and members, and all matters concerning the conduct and regulation of the affairs of the association shall be subject to such provisions in regard thereto, if any, as set forth in the articles of organization as from time to time may be amended. These bylaws replace any previous bylaws of the CRCEMSA. ARTICLE I NAME The name of this association shall be the Crowley�s Ridge Chapter of EMS Association, and is established as a nonprofit organization. ARTICLE II OBJECT The purpose for which the association is formed is as follows: A. To recognize the skills and abilities achieved by the trained Emergency Medical Service Personnel; B. To promote the professional status and encourage advanced education of the Emergency Medical Service Personell regardless of the service in which he or she performs these skills; C. To provide information on current concepts of emergency care on governmental policies related to Emergency Medical Service Personell; D. To promote the public welfare; E. To receive and disperse funds to implement the aforementioned purposes; F. Support and promote the efforts of the Arkansas EMT Association. ARTICLE III MEMBERS The Association has more than one class of members. The designation of said classes, the manner of election or appointment, the duration of membership and its qualifications and rights (including voting rights of the members of each class are as follows: Section 1. Any resident of the State of Arkansas who has certification from the Arkansas Department of Health and /or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians is eligible for Regular Membership. Section 2. Any person who is not a resident of the State of Arkansas, but who can meet the requirements as set forth in Article 3, Section 1 of these articles may become a regular voting member but may not hold office. Section 3. Membership shall not be limited by any consideration of race, creed, religion, sex or national origin. Section 4. Membership is contingent upon payment of dues. Section 5. Upon the signed recommendation of one (1) member, seconded by another member, and by three-fourths vote by the Executive Committee, Honorary Membership may be conferred upon any person who shall have rendered notable services to the association. An Honorary Member shall be entitled to all privileges of the association except those of making motions, voting and holding office. Section 6. Any individual or who is not an emergency medical technician may become an Associate Member. An Associate member shall have the same obligations of regular membership shall be entitled to make motions, vote, and hold office. Associate Member participation in the AEMTA will be governed according to their bylaws. Section 7. Dues shall accompany any application for membership in the association. Membership is contingent upon payment of dues. Annual dues shall be payable on or before September 15 of each year. Any member who has not paid dues before December 15 as provided in Article III shall be dropped from the membership role. Any person who is accepted for new membership after March 15 of any year shall have his dues reduced by 50% for the rest of the year.The dues collected shall be forwarded to the Association Treasurer. Dues shall be as follows: Regular Membership $ 15.00 per year Associate $ 15.00 per year Honorary No Charge Section 8. Anyone wishing to join the First Responder society, Instructor/Coordinator Society, Paramedic Society, Industrial EMT society, or any other society associated with the Arkansas EMT Association must first become a member in good standing with the Arkansas EMT Association. Section 9. Any member may, at any time, be banned with cause, by the affirmative vote of 2/3 of the members of the Executive Committee then in office at a meeting called for that purpose. At least 15 days notice shall be provided such member and he/she shall be provided an opportunity to be heard by the Executive Committee. |
