July marks one year for us at Chuckroast Coffee Co. Over the past year we have been striving to establish a business model that exists to give to children in need across the globe. Last month we traveled to Lima, Peru to establish connections there and work first-hand with the children we intend to support through the sales of our coffee and merchandise.
Our travels took us to a small hillside school nestled in an impoverished neighborhood in the Comas district in Lima. We found small, primitive housing stacked across the hillside in a chaotic array of concrete and straw. A permanent haze of smog and burning trash reside with an estimated 5 million people that dwell in these hillside shanty towns that surround the city. continued |
