The Quest for the Golden Kiwi
Six people had 50 minutes to make up there mind. should they go to the professors house and go on the quest? Now, it may have occurred to you that I mentioned no one in the Village was crazy enough to go on the professors quests, since Radcliff Battenberg. So, maybe its time to introduce the Six. or maybe not. They all headed to the professors an hour later. This gave the Professor a bit of a shock as he was not used to people turning up. But he interviewed them all. The first person to enter was The man who was muttering to himself. This was Colonel Custard. He served in an army for 10 years before he ended up in the Village, with a bad case of memory loss. Therefore, not much can be said about him. however it is known that he joined on the quest because he had no idea of what else he was supposed to be doing. The second person to enter was the man in the Library. His name, Rocky Dinahmite. His hobbies included blowing things up, destroying things, and, occasionally setting things on fire. A dangerous person to have as an enemy, but he can be very nice too. He has lived in the Village all his life, but he was always out of town when the professor asked for questors. The Third person who was interviewed was the woman from the grocers. like Rocky she was always out of town so she has never been able to join the quests. She is called Cleopatra Bones, a not so famous explorer, who technically wasn't that good at exploring. next, the girl from the library entered, her name was Sarah Strongarm, She is 16 years old, and the reason for not joining sooner: well, for a start she only just got interested in the Quinto the Questor books, and for a second option...since when do teenagers listen to anyone? Next to be interviewed was the man who was looking at houses. he had only just travelled to this part of town, and therefore has never heard of the Professors quests. He was called Dolla Bucks, a millionaire who was pretty bored with just being rich, and wanted some excitement in his life, which is why he came along to the interview. finally, the last person to be interviewed was the little girl. Her name was Tina Tinkle. she joined because well, she wanted real life adventures, instead of just running away from the dog.
So, the Professor had the questors he wanted. He hired them all before embarking on the details of the quest. they sat around his lab, waiting to hear what he was going to ask them to do. the Professor came in. " Explorers" he said "you have all, from a vastly long list of applicants" This made the Explorers exchange glances " been selected to embark on a dangerous, hazardous and exciting adventure" Tina, looking baffled, turned to Cleopatra and asked "what�s hazerdus mean?" Cleopatra was about to answer when the Professor went into the next part of his speech
"you all have the necessary qualifications required for this quest, and I have no doubt you will survive to tell your tale" He embarked on a long and complicated speech about how lucky they were to be chosen which went on for about half an hour. " Ahh" he went on "but I�m sure that you are all hanging off the edge of your seats , waiting to know the details about your quest"
This statement was half true, two of the Explorers had fallen asleep and were now on the floor, the others were indeed hanging on the edge of the seats, but only to stop themselves from falling backwards. Still, the mention of the quest woke them up, and they looked alert, but only for a moment, before the Professor started an even longer speech about how exciting the quest would be, and the kind of horrific dangers the Explorers would face. The Professor is the kind of man who could make the most thrilling thing in the world sound boring. After two hours of the Professor Rambling on, having moved from the dangers of the upcoming quest to how the toffee apples in his day were much more authentic, The Explorers resorted to chatting among themselves.
"If he don�t shut up soon, I�m gonna blow this place up" groaned Rocky
" ATTENTION!" shouted Colonel Custard, making them jump " how many time do I have to tell you boys, the Captain is NOT to be used for target practise"
"I swear there�s something wrong with him" muttered Sarah
"who, the Professor or Custard?"
"hey, I like custard! its yummy" objected Tina
"I meant the Colonel Kiddo" said Rocky
"oh...sawwy!"
"Is he gonna tell us about this quest soon do you think?"
"he better, or else I might leave"
"without blowing the place up?"
"I�m thinking about that one!"
"And now The Quest!" the Explorers turned their attention back to the Professor. " After Long hours of research I have found sufficient Evidence to prove the Existence of the Legendary Golden Kiwi! However, I need Photographs of it before I can put my research forward. this quest could make you all rich if you find the kiwi. You will be transported to the deep jungle where I believe the Kiwi may be, then, you are on your own. you must find it using your Explorers intuition. I will give you a rucksack of basic Equipment, then you must be off. Is everyone clear about that? good, now GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!"
