Part 1

A shout of Triumph was heard. Well, actually it wasnt, because there was no one around to hear it. But there was a shout of triumph. If there had been anyone present what they saw next would have... Well, probably in all truth scared them. An Elderly man wearing glasses and a long white overcoat ran out of the house and started dancing around the trees. Then, he stopped in mid dance before rushing back into the house.  This was the Professor. Professor Ignatious Matthew Agrippa Smarteepants. A known Genius, he was the figure of ridicule among the villagers. He was always coming up with new schemes, idea and locations, all of which would involve a bizarre quest to find out if its real. Unfortunately (for him) none of the villagers took him seriously, so he never had any volunteers for these quests, since the strange and tragic disappearance of the Famous Explorer Radcliff Battenberg, a resident in the Village, who took up the professors first quest and was never seen again. No one dared to even find out what the Professor was planning.
Anyway, enough about the Professor for the moment. As interesting as his pathetic life may be, we havent got time to go into all of his experiments and quests. Focus your attention away from his house...a little further away than those daffodils. In fact travel away from the outskirts of the forest he lives on the edge on, follow the road until you come to a bunch of houses. This is the Village. its actually more of a large Town, but never mind. Now, on the day of the Professors amazing new discovery 6 unique and special people were in the Village. You will hear more about them later. For now lets walk down the main street, The librarys on your left, just past the butcher and the baker...and opposite the candlestick maker. Enter the Library. Someones reading in there. She has a pile of books beside her, now, if you read the spines of the books you will notice that they are all from the popular series of Quinto the Questor. Well, its popular in the Village, but that might be because the author lives there, I dont think that the series has got much further than the Windmill on the edge of the Village. Anyway, Leave the girl for a moment, and head to the section on how to books. youll see a man there, reading a book entitled How to blow up a dam in 101 colourful and original ways. Now lets leave the library. walking down the street you see a woman arguing with the grocer about the price of prunes. another man is wandering around aimlessly...bumping into random lampposts, and muttering to himself. a little further you see another man looking at houses for sale. Not a resident of the Village obviously. and finally, as your tour of the town is completed, a small girl in her back garden is playing a game of "the dogs gonna eat me: run away" . Now, as you turn around, ready to leave the Village and forget all about it, you see a woman standing across the street. She has Short Brown hair, and a rucksack of equipment. She is wearing boots, and clothes that will last through a stampede of thorn bushes. This is Lucrisha Malone, she is a famous explorer. She is in the Village for the day, as at the moment there are no quests up for grabs, and she has nothing to do, so she is spending her day off clothes shopping. She is not important.
Suddenly, the Professor came running into town shouting. A few people glanced at him, then went back to what they were doing. But six people were about to change their lives forever, by listening to him. At The shouting the little girl and the woman in the grocers stopped what they were doing and listened. The shouting was heard in the library, and, apart from the Librarian shouting back shhhh, two more people paid attention. The girl and the Man walked out of the Librarys Doors and listened. finally, the Man muttering to himself, and the man buying a house turned and listened. The Professor, heedless of this continued shouting " It Exists Im sure of it" he shouted "I need Volunteers for a quest! interviews at the lab in five minutes" after shouting this he realised it would take him at least ten minutes to get back to his lab. "make that an hour" he shouted on an afterthought, before he headed back home, stopping along the way to buy some fudge.
