"Nanny"

My comfort

      When I was a newborn

                      You kept me warm

                     The feel of your arms

                 As they held me in
                   comfort

                 When I was a child

                You bandaged my knees

                 The feel of your arms

As they held me in comfort

When he broke my heart

You told me time would heal

The feel of your arms

As they held me in comfort

When my children were born

You took them into your heart

The feel of your arms

As they held me in comfort

With each of your grandchildren

Your heart and eyes lit up

The feel of your arms

As they held me in comfort

When you were ready to leave me

To go to your heavenly home

The feel of your arms

As they held me in comfort

Before you closed your eyes

You told me to remember

The feel of your arms

As they held me in comfort

As you stand with Jesus

Your spirit stands with me

The feel of your arms

As they HOLD me in comfort

The Gift

The minutes of the night are counting

Only a few are left until midnight

With each tic of the clock my heart becomes heavy

How will I face the dawn of Christmas Eve morning?

From the time I was a small child Christmas

time for me was the Eve It was the

time even though gifts were under my tree at home

The true magic of Christmas was when we

shared the Eve with you

The Gifts you gave thru the years the most

precious never wrapped

The way I felt each and every year

when thru your door I came

The smell of your caramel cake, your turkey

and the ham never has someone given the way

     your heart prepared for us

Each and every year the

magic of Christmas shown in your eyes for you

Christmas was the day we would all

gather around you Your gifts each year

wrapped in paper and bows you have kept and

treasured each and every one You’re biggest

and best being us sharing the Eve by your side

This year is different so very hard for us here

With you gone were can we find the magic

of the Eve? With each moment the pain

 becomes unbearable

We need you today, your hugs and sweet kisses

The feel of your arms and the sweet smells

of your house Without you gifts are not gifts

As I find the strength to make it thru this pain

You speak to my heart a soft sweet message

"My sweet child the gifts I have given you all

thru these years are gifts I knew would get you

thru when this time came

Look back over the years; capture the feelings

 of our time together

Remember the many Eve’s we have made so special

Never loose that feeling and always know

I AM with you each and every moment

You do not see me but with each of you I

am in your hearts for there

I will never leave

My greatest gift thru the years has been each

and every one of my special children, grandchildren,

        great-grandchildren and even my great-great-

grandchildren

Do not let your hearts be heavy and

burdened this most special time of the year,

rejoice once again for I am safe and happy

here in Heaven The joys here are never ending

and soon I shall see you all once again So hold

onto me thru the good and bad and I will greet

you each with open arms

My Lord has allowed me to continue on in

spirit along beside you each and everyone

Though my chair is empty, it shall always be filled"
