Established in 1990, the Kathmandu Crazyman is run in conjunction with the Hutt Multisport Club and Hutt City Council. The organising committee consists of John Cussins, Michael Jacques, Jillian Ross and Shane Ross.

All are experienced multisport enthusiasts who between them have been involved in the organisation of eight of the Crazyman�s 13-year history. And as well as 40 years combined multisport experience they bring professional backgrounds ranging from media skills to project management. John is the Crazyman's eternal optimist, seeing no limitations and always on the side of the competitor. Michael provides the other side of the coin, his pessimism balancing John's optimism and the budget. Jill is behind the Crazyman cutting edge graphics, while Shane provides project management skills that keeps the other three in line. Between them they provide a balance that ensures that the Kathmandu Crazyman remains Wellington's premier multisport event.
